Margaret Robbins Holden

Margaret Robbins Holden,68, of Trinity, N.C. passed away on Wednesday, March 25,2020 at Hospice of the Piedmont. A celebration of her life will be planned at a later time.
Born in Thomasville, N.C. to J. Alby Robbins and Helen Floyd Robbins. She was raised on a dairy farm in Trinity, N.C. with her sisters Linda and Carolyn Marie and brothers Hubert and “Jimmy”.
Margaret married in 1973 to Eddie Holden. She is a beloved mother and is survived by her daughters Amanda Simmons and husband Sammy, Stacy Pulaski and husband Johnnie, Heather Vineyard and husband Mark; grandchildren Bailee, Alby, Dalton, Josey and Scotlyn.
Mrs. Holden's great grandmother is Fatima Briles Floyd. Also has a direct line to Mary Briles Rush via her father.

Donald Lawrence Williamson

Donald Lawrence Williamson, 73, of Randleman, NC passed Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Randolph Health. No services planned. Mr. Williamson was born on April 4, 1947 to Willie Worthy Williamson and Mildred Miller Williamson. He is preceded in death by Mitchell Williamson (Brother); Mildred Miller Williamson (Mother); O.D. Williamson (Brother); Willie Worthy Williamson (Father); Ronald Wayne Clark (Son); Mildred Leness Robbins (Sister). He is survived by his faithful, devoted, loving wife Cindy Williamson and their two fur babies Edie and Abby of the home that he loved very much. His children: Lisa (Pressley) Brower of Liberty, Scottie (Stacie) York of Asheboro, Bobbie Jo (Keith) Hatfield of Asheboro, Tammy Varner of Burlington, Donna Clark Coble (Billy) of Randleman, Donald Lawrence Clark of Randleman. He had Twenty Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren. His siblings: Howard (Donna) Williamson of Texas, Ameryles (Kenny) Thomas of Randleman, Colleen Adams of Randleman, Bernadette Bowen of Asheboro, Phyllis Busbin of Salisbury, Gwendolyn McDowell of Franklin, Vivian Nutter of Asheboro, Vickie Williamson of Randleman, Richard Williamson of Randleman and numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Mr. Williamson's great grandmother is Frances Ellen "Fannie" Briles Miller

Carl Junior Laughlin

Carl Junior Laughlin, 83, of Randleman, NC, died Monday, March 23, 2020 at his residence.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Mr. Laughlin was a native of Randolph County, veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Laughlin was preceded in death by his parents, Shelly and Mattie Wright Laughlin.
Survivors: wife, Juanita York Laughlin, of the home, son, Carl J. Laughlin, wife Lynn, of Randleman, granddaughter, Courtney Laughlin, of Randleman.

Evelyn Trotter Bunting

Evelyn Trotter Bunting, 94, of Asheboro, died Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Due to the restrictions on group gatherings, the funeral service will be private on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Ridge Funeral Home, with Revs. Bob and Lynn Chaney and Rev. Brian Cole officiating. Burial will follow at West Chapel U.M.C. Cemetery.

Evelyn’s body will lie in state on Sunday, March 22, 2020, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Ridge Funeral Home.

Born in Randolph County, NC, on December 10, 1925, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Troy Jay Trotter and Bernice McDowell Trotter. 

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Bunting; brothers, Charles, James, John and Tillman Trotter and sister, Alice Cabe.

Surviving are her children, Gary Bunting (Jerrie), Kathy Haithcock (J.C.), Rebecca Chi (Hao); brother, Joseph Trotter (Jessie); grandchildren, Kristi Bunting, Wendy Snyder (Mark), Kelli Haithcock, Jason Haithcock (Michelle), Sherri Epps (Brian), Hollie Reeder (Jeff), Kim Chi; 18 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry Weldon Wall, Sr.

Mr. Larry Weldon Wall, Sr. (better known as “Coach Wall”), 78, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Hospice Home at High Point. Due to the coronavirus, a family-only graveside service will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, however, a memorial service will take place at a later date.  
Born in Randolph County on November 13, 1941, to the late Clifford Weldon Wall and Louie Kinley Wall. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Wall Robertson. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife (two weeks shy) of 57 years, Geneva Gordon Wall; a son, Larry Wall, Jr. (Kristen) of Lexington; a daughter, Leigh Ann Klee (Steve) of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Shelby Wall, Ian Wall and Jon Klee; one sister, Gloria Wall Braxton of Thomasville and her son, Creath Jarrell; and nephew Zane Robertson (Bobbi).

Mr. Wall's grandmother is Queen Briles Kinley.

Dorothy Louise Parrish Long Duck

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Parrish Long Duck, age 92, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1:30 PM in Grace Lutheran Church in Thomasville, NC with Rev. Cassie Overcash officiating. The interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation and Mrs. Duck will remain at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour prior to the service.
Born September 25, 1927 in Davidson County, NC the daughter of the late Sidney Parrish and Claudia Everhart Parrish. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. Long; her daughter, Priscilla D. Freedle and a sister, Polly Parrish Hickernell.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Long Keene and husband Thomas of Greensboro, NC; her son, Everette Duck, Jr. of Lexington, NC; two grandchildren, Chad Freedle of Lexington, NC and Shannon Doby of High Point, NC; two great - grandchildren, Samantha Doby and Jamey Passmore.

Mrs. Duck's great grandmother is Elizabeth Briles Robbins.

James "Allen" Brown Dies

James "Allen" Brown, age 83, of Randleman died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at North Pointe.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Pugh Funeral Home, Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
Born October 9, 1936 the son of Calvin and Ethel Laughlin Brown. Native of Randolph County; inaddition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Brown and long time companion Marie Pugh.
He is survived by his brother, Irvin Brown of Asheboro; grandchildren: Carrie and Butch Craven of Franklinville, Terrie and Ben, Starla and Rick Turpin of Randleman and Darla and Buddy Allred of Randleman; several great grandchildren.

Frankie “Frank” Edward Hughes

Mr. Frankie “Frank” Edward Hughes, 86, a resident of Thomasville passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the JC Green & Sons Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bradley D. Treece officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Thomasville. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Grove UMC Cemetery on Old Highway 64.
Born on April 12, 1933 in Davidson County to the late Clyde Lester Hughes and Sadie Kinley Hughes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his six siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Juanita Goss Hughes of the home; one son, Jerry Hughes of Thomasville; two daughters, Sherry Hughes Watford and Lavon Hughes Everhart, both of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Stacey Matthews and husband Stewart, Holly Young and husband Thomas, and Bridgett Watford; four great-grandchildren, Sam Matthews, Charley Matthews, TJ Young, and Elizabeth “Libby” Young; two sisters, Jewel Kinney and husband David of Lexington, and Carolyn Hughes of Thomasville; and one brother, Odie Hughes and wife Linda of Thomasville.
Mr. Hughes great, great grandmother is Nancy Briles Kindley.
