Gladys Mae Hoover Coman has Died

Gladys Mae Hoover Coman, passed today March 8, 2012. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Fair Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. David Noyes and Mrs. Jane Baity officiating. Born on January 15, 1926 in Stanly County, a daughter of Bertha Eagle Hoover and Jasper Hoover; preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years John Russell Coman on February 2, 2010. Surviving to cherish her memory, a son, Mark Russell Coman and wife Venee of Thomasville, NC; a daughter, Beverly Coman Clinard and husband Kelly of High Point, NC; a sister, Polly H. Clodfelter and husband James of Asheville, NC; a brother, Ernest Hoover and wife Helen of Thomasville, NC: three grandchildren, Kimberly Coman of Georgia, Kristin Clinard of Raleigh, NC, and Kasey Clinard of High Point, NC; step-grandson, Ricky Seamon of Lexington, NC; three sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, and a dear friend, Sandra Workman. C. Sidney Hill Passes

C. Sidney Hill, 69, of Archdale, passed Friday, March 02, 2012, at Pennybyrn at Maryfield. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, March 4th, at Archdale Friends Meeting with Pastor Dave Mercadante, officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday prior to the service. Born in High Point on November 20, 1942, the son of Mrs. Clover Mink Hill and the late Mr. Clarence Hill. Survived by his mother, Clover Hill; children, Lynn Hill Walser of Archdale, Ken Hill of Randleman; sister, Connie Hill of Archdale; brother, Tony Hill and his wife, Sara of Greensboro; nephew, Tim Hill and his wife, Teresa of Columbia, SC; nieces, Holly Hill Proud and her husband, Greg of Annapolis, MD and Susan Hill of Charlotte; and great nephews, Gregory, Charlie and Bradley Christopher Proud, who was born March 3, 2012. Dougan Clark “D.C.” Poole, Jr. Passes

Dougan Clark “D.C.” Poole, Jr., 93, of Asheboro, NC, passed Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. Funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating. Burial will follow at West Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, March 9, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home. Native of Randolph County, NC, born September 13, 1918. He was the son of the late Dougan Clark Poole, Sr., and Dovie Miranda Pierce Poole. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by loving wife, Thelma Poole, and his sisters, Nannie Skeen, Lula Coltrane, Clyde Trotter, Mettie Lovell, Ione James and Bernice Maness. Survived by his daughters, Patsy Skeen and husband, Wayne, of Greensboro, NC, Judy Cox and husband, Gary, of Ramseur, NC; grandchildren, Crissy King, Eric Skeen, Jennifer Schwarz, Kevin Cox, Jody Cox; great grandchildren, Brittany Shropshire, Kyle Skeen, Jordan Ellis, Emily Ellis, Molly Ellis, Eli Schwarz, Isacc Schwarz, Ari Schwarz, Cameron Cox, Christian Cox; one step great grandchild, Chelsea Ford; two great-great grandchildren, Luke Shropshire and Bryce Shropshire. James Bryce Robbins Dies

James Bryce Robbins, age 84, of Asheboro passed Friday, March 2, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.Born May 26, 1927, the son of Nathan Allen and Gertrude Claire Jarrell Robbins. Native of Randolph County and a member of Mt. Shepherd United Methodist Church; preceded in death by his wife: Eldora King Robbins in 2005. Survived by one son: Jim Robbins and his wife, Debi of Roxboro, NC and granddaughter: Rebecca Robbins and her husband, Andy Brown. Briles lineage: Grandmother is Elizabeth Briles Robbins, daughter of the late Alfred & Annis Rush Briles.
