Eutha Parrish Small Dies

THOMASVILLE-Eutha Parrish Small, 90, passed Monday afternoon, Nov. 23, 2009, in the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral service Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at 11 a.m. in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel with Elder John T. Wingfield officiating. Burial will follow in Pierces Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Born July 29, 1919, in Randolph County, a daughter of Oscar Eugene Parrish and Ida Lee Myers Parrish. Preceded in death by her husband Cletus Wylie Small, who died August 17, 1991; daughter, C. Ann Small, February 18, 2002, and by a sister, Eva P. Freeman and a brother, Roy Eugene Parrish. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Betty Isley and husband, Jerry, of Thomasville; a grandson, Maurice Charles Rayburn and wife, Lori; a great-granddaughter, Roxi Rayburn; sisters, Inez P. Bean of Thomasville and Ruby P. Loflin of High Point; and a brother, Albert Parrish and wife, Alice, of Trinity.-JC Green

Jim Hunt Passes Away

SOPHIA-James Lee "Jim" Hunt, age 87, passed Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Graveside Services Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 4:00 PM Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery in Sophia; Rev. John H. Sides and Rev. Bob Medford officiating. Born December 31, 1921 in Randleman, NC, the son of Henry Thomas and Nancy Rolena Frazier Hunt. Survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Ellen Farlow Hunt, daughter: Nancy Ann Hunt Bostick, and her husband, Tommy of Midland, TX and Son: Tom Hunt of Nebo, NC, Granddaughter: Christy Muehlbrad and her husband, Scott of Midland, TX; Great Grandchildren, Regan and Hunter Muehlbrad.-Pugh

Alice Floyd Royals Dies

TRINITY-Alice L. Royals, age 67, passed November 21, 2009 in High Point Regional Cancer Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Hopewell United Methodist Church by the Reverend Toni Ruth Smith. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Randolph County on November 7, 1942 to Charles Lee "Buck" and Essie Miller Floyd. Surviving is her husband Gerald :Jerry" Royals (m.June 29, 1963); son and daughter-in-law: Scott and Eleanor Royals and one granddaughter, Sara Nichole Royals, all of Trinity. Mrs. Royals has one sister, Darlene Brinkley and husband Ken of Trinity and many cousins including Kat Robbins and Bobby Royals.-Sechrest

James Lewin Crotts Passes

THOMASVILLE -James Lewin Crotts, 84, passed Monday November 16, 2009, at his home. Funeral service will be held Friday November 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. Bill Brown and Rev. Randall Crotts officiating. Interment will follow in Free Pilgrim Church Cemetery. Born December 14, 1924, in Davidson County a son of James Odell Crotts and Mae Clodfelter Crotts. Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Kate Carrick and Janelle Fritts, one brother; Billy Gray Crotts and two brothers-in-law; G.W. "Dub" Carrick and Grayson Crook. Surviving is his wife Helen Payne of the home (m.December 24, 1947); daughters; Carol Embler and husband Wayne of Lexington and Angela Brown and husband Brien of Thomasville. grandsons Thomas Brown, Greg Embler and Gary Embler and wife Hannah, sisters; Rachel Hepler and husband David of Mt. Databases Updated

The Briles Information Network has completed a major update to the databases. There have been several deaths within the last two weeks, mostly in the Snider Family. Also the Donald L. Briles issue was solved with the help of Susan Jean Schmidt who is the daughter of Mr. Briles. The BIN would like to thank Bonnie Snider Jones for assisting with the Snider Lineage! The BIN Podcast, "Year in Review", will debut next week.

Ruth Snider Johnson Dies

THOMASVILLE-Ruth Snider Johnson, passed Monday evening, Nov. 9, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center. No visitation. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at Central Wesleyan Church; Rev. David Albertson officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Born in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Ernest Lindsay Snider and Josie Frances Hughes Snider. Surviving are a brother, Wilbur Snider and his wife, Linda, of Lexington.

Nellie Cashatt Passes

Nellie Phillips Cashatt, 86, passed Thursday, October 29, 2009. Celebration of life was held Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 3 P.M. in Pine Woods United Methodist Church; Rev. Keith Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born May 29, 1923 in Davidson County, a daughter of the late Ervin E. Phillips and Needer Copley Phillips. Preceded in death by her husband Cromer Lee Cashatt in December 4, 1975 (m.February 13, 1934). Surviving are a daughter, Janice Cashatt Smith of home; grandchildren, Stephanie D. Farmer of High Point and Chad A. Davis of Greensboro; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Smith, Haylee Smith and Mason Farmer; niece, Barbara Phillips of Thomasville; nephew, David Phillips of Thomasville; special care-giver, Pat Presley and special and loving buddies, Penny and Maggie.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born July 15, 1919 in Randolph County to James Lewis Pierce and Annie Rebecca Miller Pierce. Preceded in death by her husband, N. Wade Small and by a brother, Harlen Pierce. Judge Margaret Briles Passes

Fort Myers, Fla.- Judge Margaret S. Briles, 84, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Bettendorf, passed Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009. Services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009, at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport, Iowa. Born April 28, 1925, and grew up in Elburn, Illinois. Married Donald L. Briles in 1953 and they proceeded to have four independent-minded daughters. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1987. Also preceded in death her parents, the late Eunice and Donald Stevenson; a brother, Malcolm; a daughter, Martha; and a son-in-law, Dave. Survived by daughters and son-in-laws: Susan and Art, Sarah and Jeff, and Elizabeth; brothers and sister-in-laws: James and Bea, Robert and Virginia; a sister-in-law: Fran; grandchildren: Victoria, Nicholas, Ethan and Luke; a great granddaughter: Rayna; and former son-in-law: Gary and wife, Julie; along with her beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.
