Hazel Carrick Caldwell Dies, GGrandmother is Charity Briles

Hazel Ruth Carrick Caldwell, age 85, of Randleman died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. The family will receive friends Monday, May 22, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Chris Heppding and Rev. Kenneth Reaves officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Born October 10, 1931 the daughter of Milas and Flora Pierce Carrick. Native of Davidson County, in addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Weaver and Leroy Caldwell. She is survived by her daughter: Carolyn Parrish and husband Mike of Randleman; sister: Frances Anderson of Randleman; brother: Bryce Carrick and wife Thelma of Asheboro; grandchildren, Tammy Lamb and husband Kyle, Mike Parrrish, Jr, and Dennis Caldwell and wife Lynda all of Randleman; 5 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Maxine Hill Coltrane

Maxine Hill Coltrane, 90, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home. Born March 3, 1927 in Randolph County, Mrs. Coltrane was the daughter of the late Walter and Martha Hill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coltrane was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Hill Crotts; and brothers, Gilbert and Leonard Hill. Survivors include her daughters, Ellen Coltrane of Asheboro, and Victoria Patterson (Terry) of Franklinville; son, Thomas Coltrane (Jennifer) of Raleigh; sister, Elizabeth Enyart (John) of Port St. Lucie, FL; brothers, Jay D. Amber Nicole Durst Varian Dies

Amber Nicole Varian, 31, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 12, 2017. Funeral services will be held at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Monday, April 17, 2017, at 1 PM, with Pastor Greg Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens also in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 11-1 PM prior to the service on Monday.She was born on January 16, 1986, in Point Pleasant, WV, to Dale and Corrina Durst. Amber is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Naomi Pearl Briles and Dennis Thomas Briles.Amber is survived by her loving husband, Tom Varian; her parents, Dale and Corrina Briles Durst; her sister, Diana (Bryan) Varney; nephew, Zachary Fields; nieces, Madison and Mikayla Varney; mother and father-in-law, Barb and Bug Varian; and paternal granparents, Ralph and Nellie Durst.

Kenneth John Briles

Kenneth John Briles, age 70 of Wild Rose, died unexpectedly on Saturday May 13, 2017. He served in the U.S. Army with the 84th Division and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. Kenneth is survived by his daughter: Keri (Tim) Dabroski, Waukesha; grandchildren: Jeanette and Eddie; other relatives and friends. Private family services will be held at Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King. NOTE: We do not have a lineage for Mr. Briles We believe he is the son of Kenneth Ellsworth Briles

Roy Lee Pierce Dies

Roy Lee Pierce, age 74, of Trinity passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, Ross Wood Rd., Trinity with Elder Dale Brown, Elder Jack Dawson, and Elder Paul Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Randolph County on August 3, 1942 to James Lewis and Tura Grubb Pierce. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Pierce, Lewis Junior Pierce, and Ruth Elaine Howard. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Kindley Pierce; daughter, Nanette P. Todd and husband Ray of Longs, SC; step sons, Dale Russell and wife Cheryl of Richland Square, NC and Steve Russell and wife Debbie of Trinity, NC; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. Bernell Sue Briles Richards, 78, of Hardesty, Oklahoma passed away April 22, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 27, at the Adams Mennonite Brethren Church with Herb Bridgewater officiating. Interment will be at the Union Center Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker.Born on August 26, 1938 in the Dombey area, the daughter daughter of the late Clyde and Lauva Hasty Briles. Preceding her in death are her parents and sister, Clydena. Survivors include her husband, Rodney of the home (m. February 16, 1957); two sons, Leon and Beverly Richards of Adams, OK; Clellie and Ginger Richards of Enid, OK; and one daughter, Becky and Terry Gilbert of Hardesty, OK.; ten grandchildren, Amanda and Brian Jarvis of Fairfax, VA; Lorena and Cody Ballard of Oklahoma City, OK; Emily and Katie Richards of Adams, OK; Caleb and Dana Richards of Serepta, LA; Kala and Tyler Wondrasek of Norman, OK; Clancy and Beth Richards of Shawnee, OK; Melyssa and Flip van den Bosch of Vleuten, The Netherlands; Krysta and Caitlyn Gilbert of Stillwater, OK; 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Darrell Briles of Wikieup, AZ; and numerous family and friends.
