Hazel Mae Underwood Butts

Hazel Mae Underwood Butts, 63, passed Friday, May 4 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, by the Rev. Jeff Walser. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home. Born June 2, 1948 in Davidson County to David Jasper Underwood and Ruth Alice Welborn Underwood. Her brother, Marvin Ray Underwood, and sister, Shelvia Randall, preceded her in death. Survived by her husband of 32 years, Dennis Butts of the home, her daughter, Becky Walser and husband, the Rev. Jeff Walser, of Lexington; her sons, Jesse Howard and wife, Diane, of Lexington, and Keith Allen and wife, Julie, of Rural Hall; her brother David Jasper Underwood, Jr. of High Point; her sister, Carleen Branson and husband, John, of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Zachary Ryan Howard, Dustin Craig Walser, Ashley Elizabeth Walser, Trent Wayne Allen, and Wesley Hunter Allen.
