Austin Gilbert Skeen, 92, passed Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Hospice Home at High Point. On October 12, 1946, he married Rachel Inez Smith, who preceded him in death on June 20, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Born in Randolph County on April 19, 1931, a son to the late Noah and Grace Robbins Skeen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elwood Skeen, Noah “June” Skeen and Sammy Skeen. On February 16, 1951, he married the former Joyce James. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce James Skeen of the home; two children, Brenda Skeen Huffman and her husband, Rev. Tim of High Point and Michael Ray Skeen and his wife, Barbara of Trinity; one sister, Naomi Grubb and her husband, James of Thomasville; one brother, Tommy Skeen of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Angela Huffman Hunt and her husband, Brian of Thomasville; Kevin Matthew Huffman and his wife, Jamie of Nashville, Christopher Charles Skeen of High Point, and Jennifer Rae Skeen of High Point; three great grandchildren, Damian Scott Williams, Noah Evan Hunt, Madden Jay Huffman, and a great granddaughter soon to arrive; and several nieces and nephews. Lillian Elizabeth Conrad Skeen, 93, passed Friday evening, July 20, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11 A.M. in Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Born October 19, 1918 in Davidson County, a daughter of Henry Estes Conrad and Hattie Dillon Conrad. On September 21, 1940 she was married to Hal Skeen, who died April 30, 1973. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Fowler and a brother Glenn Conrad. John Henry Skeen, 93 of Trinity passed Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Trinity Memorial United Methodist Church with the Reverend Faye Herbin officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. Born May 5, 1918 in Trinity he is a son of the late Thomas Matthew Skeen and Angie Wall Skeen; preceded in death by his wife Nelva Myers Skeen in 2003. He is survived by four children: Nancy Reed of Thomasville, Hallie Jessup and husband Terry of Jamestown, Stanley Van Skeen and wife Cathy of Swannanoa and Emily Bish of Banner Elk. Danny Outen and Rev. Lee Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Born September 24, 1922, in Asheboro to the late Herbert and Nannie Poole Skeen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Britt, Clifford and J.D. Skeen, and her husband, Clarence Ennis. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Robert Whitehorne, of High Point; her grandchildren, Andrew Whitehorne and Kathryn Whitehorne and her fiancé, Cory Duncan, all of Raleigh; her brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Eva Skeen of Robbins; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Wednesday, November 9th at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Born November 19, 1923 a daughter to the late Sam Scarlett and Bessie Beck Scarlett in Thomasville, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph T. Skeen, Sr., sister, Lois Shaw, and a great granddaughter, Lakeya. Survived by three children, Becky S. Owens of High Point, Shannon Skeen Cinque and husband, Joseph of Cliffside Park, NJ, and John Skeen and Loretta Erdman of Staley, four grandchildren Scarlett and husband Andy, Sherri, Josh and wife Katie, and April; four great grandchildren, Marcus, Michael, Madison, Rose and one great great grandson, Cameron.
