Hannah Hepler Watford

Hannah Hepler Watford, 94, of Denton Road, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017, at the Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County. A graveside service will be held, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. David Bowman officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.Born on September 22, 1922 in Davidson County, NC to the late Earl Henderson Hepler Sr. and Martha Hanner Hepler. Along with her parents, Hannah was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Watford; a sister, Hope Hepler; two brothers, James Stuart Hepler, and Earl Hepler, Jr. Surviving are several nieces and nephews, and other special family members. Harold Franklin Pierce

Harold Franklin Pierce, 71, of Seagrove, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 23, 2017, at New Center Christian Church with Rev. Jonathan Burris and Pastor Jason Frank officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born November 1, 1945 in Randolph County, Mr. Pierce was the son of the late Rayford and Cleadel Garner Pierce. Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife, Martha McNair Pierce of the home; son, Tommy Ray Pierce and wife, Tonya of Lexington; sisters, Norma Ann Clark and husband, Jerry of Petersburg, VA, Geraldine Hicks and husband, Lloyd of Seagrove, Vickie Brown and husband, Benjy of Seagrove; brother, Darrell Pierce and wife, Diane of Seagrove;,and grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Pierce and Kayleigh Mae Pierce, both of Lexington. Astor Summey Dies, Mother is Gertrude Briles

William Astor Summey, 94, of Asheboro, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Mt. Vista Health Park in Denton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m., Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Joe Yates officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A private burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park at a later date. Born January 5, 1923 in Randolph County, Mr. Summey was the son of the late Jesse and Gertrude Briles Summey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Allene Crotts Summey; and his daughter, Janice Allene Summey. Survived by his son, William L. Summey and wife, Harriett of Asheboro; sisters, Velna Rider and husband, Astor of Silver Valley, Eva Hill of Thomasville; grandchildren, Dana Moose and husband, Whit Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Brent Summey of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Jacob Moose, KayDee Summey, Blaise Astor Summey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Texas-Army Pvt. Paige Fontenot Briles Found Unresponsive in Vehicle at Fort Hood Housing in Texas; death ruled a Suicide. Below is her death notice. She was once married to Joshua "Yeshua" Briles, however he is not listed in the notice.

Kaplan—Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan honoring the life of Paige Elizabeth Fontenot, 21 years, who died Saturday, December 24, 2016. She will be laid to rest at Abshire Cemetery with Chaplain Munoz officiating the services.

She is survived by her parents, John and Terri Fontenot of Kaplan; one sister, Nikkie Fontenot of Kaplan; and her paternal grandparents, John and Linda Fontenot of Kaplan.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan, 300 N. Eleazar Ave., on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 8:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM; Friday, January 6, 2017 from 8:00 AM until services.
