Arthur Lee Beck, III, 70, Dies

Mr. Arthur Lee Beck, III, 70, passed Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. He was born on November 17, 1950 in Thomasville to Arthur L. Beck, Jr. and Willie Pearl Kindley Beck, who preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Rodney Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cecelia Myrick Beck; and two sons, “Art” Beck, IV and wife Kasey Spivey Beck, and Rodney Adam Beck and wife Allyson Sprinkle Beck. Also surviving are five grandsons, Art “Will” Beck, V, Sam Beck, Cooper Beck, Charlie Beck, and Tucker Beck; two brothers, Larry Wayne Beck, Sr. and wife Kathy Jones Beck, and Steven Dale Beck and wife Kathy Payne Beck.

Carolyn Faye Duncan Washam

Mrs. Carolyn Faye Duncan Washam, 79, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. She was born on July 5, 1941 in Guilford County, NC to Clinton Harding Duncan and Doris Hepler Duncan. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. C. Alan Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Van Charles Hedrick on May 7, 2018; her son, Edward Clinton Gallimore; her step-children, Jane Edna Hedrick, Van Charles Hedrick, Jr., and Kathy Lynn Hedrick; and her brother, Harold Wayne Duncan.

Surviving are her son, Steven Clay Gallimore and wife Lorrie of Thomasville; her step-son, Bobby Van Hedrick and wife Carol of Thomasville; her step-daughter, Karen Sue LeClerc and husband Dave of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren, Brittany Gallimore New and husband Sean, Brandy Gallimore Edwards and husband Jayson, Ryan Gallimore and fiancée Alexandria, Megan Gallimore Hurt and husband Chris, and Katrina Short; her step-grandchildren, Rusty Hedrick and wife Kimberly, Daniel Hedrick and wife Kimberly, and Angie Smith and husband Kevin; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and her brother, Thomas C. Duncan and friend Betty Rose of Thomasville.

Mark Lyle Briles Passes Away

Mark Lyle Briles, of Evart, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 10, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born on December 31, 1956.

"Fishing in Memory" will be held on Saturday, June 19,2021 at 1 p.m. at Rose Lake (Osceola County Park) located at 17726 Youth Dr, Leroy Mi 49655. 

Mark's death was preceded by; his parents, Wayne and Theresa (Carter) Briles; brothers, Wayne Briles and Kenneth Briles; sister; Margaret "Peggy" Briles; as well as one grandchild.

Mark was survived by; the children of  his heart; Tina (Mike) Bessey, Joseph Briles, Amy Briles, Ben Dixon-Briles, Wayne Briles, and Vera Briles; siblings, Dale (Alice Carrier) Briles, Hazen (Diana) Briles, Edith Briles, Shelly Briles, Katie Clements, and Irene Briles; along with many grandchildren of his heart and one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews as well as many greats; and lots of other loving family members and friends.

Cody John Briles


Cody John Briles, age 27, of Litchfield Park, Arizona passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Cody was born June 17, 1993 in Kingman, Arizona, the son of Daniel Micah and Jolynn Murphy Briles. 

He was preceded in death by his Great-Grandmother, Deloris Hayden of Kingman, Arizona; his Maternal Grandfather Robert Murphy of Kingman, Arizona; and his paternal Grandfather Danny Briles of Phoenix, Arizona.

He is survived by his daughter Jayden Briles of Phoenix, Arizona; his parents Micah and Jolynn Briles of San Antonio, Texas; brother Christopher Briles and wife Yachel Briles of Haifa, Israel; brother Marcus Reif of Golden Valley, Arizona; sister Ashley Landes (Briles) and her husband Derek Landes of Kansas City, Missouri; grandmother Debbie Briles of Portland, Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Linda Briles Renfro Dies

Linda S. Briles Renfro, of Hampstead, MD passed Thursday, June 10, 2021, at her home in Hampstead.

The family will welcome family and friends from 6 to 9 pm at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel in Manchester, MD, on Sunday, June 13. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 14 at 1 pm at Kirkridge ARP Church in Hampstead, MD with Rev. Steven Badorf officiating. 

Born in 1945 and raised in Baltimore County; she was the devoted daughter to the late Edward and Mildred Briles. She and her husband, George, celebrated 36 years of marriage. She was preceded by her brother, Eddie Briles in 2003.

Surviving in addition to her loving husband, her delightful, supportive step children and their spouse: Clint Renfro, his wife Erin of Anchorage, AK, and Ronda Nichols, her husband Dr. James Nichols ofM Waynesboro, PA; her amazing step grandchildren, who affectionally called her “Grandma”: Garrett and Laura Renfro and Rylan Nichols; her sisters, Judy Loomis of California; and Debbie Brown and husband Steve of Florida; her long time devoted friends, Pat and Frank Kluge of Denton, TX, and Mark and Sharon Wingard, and their 3 daughters—Hannah, and husband Matt Thrift, Sarah, and Abby; Aunt Anna, many cousins, nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

Larry Charles Briles Passes

Larry Charles Briles passed away May 30, 2021 with his family lovingly gathered around him. 
Visitation will be Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville, Indiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Martinsville at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior to service starting at 10:00 a.m. Larry’s body will be laid to rest in Solsberry, Indiana.

Born April 19, 1950 to Frieda Gallian Briles and Charlie Briles in Bedford, Indiana. Larry was preceded by his beloved brother, Richard (Dickie) Briles, and his parents. 

Larry is survived by his wife, Kristine Ann Briles, his eight children Mike (Mari), Brian (Chanda), Jeremy (Ali), Alyssa (Jason), Jared (Katie), Brittany (Mikal), Ayla (Tom), and Kiera (TBD). He loved his eleven grandchildren with all his soul: Austin (Sarai), Aiden, Brienna, Avri, Makenzie, Brooklyn, Graham, Aria, Sadie, Everly, Dawson, and soon to be baby "Charlie".



Lillian Louise (Lou) Kinley Elberson

Mrs. Lillian Louise (Lou) Kinley Elberson, 65, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at her home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Jamie Draughn officiating.  Interment will follow in Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. 

She was born on August 10, 1955 in Guilford County, High Point, NC to Wade Dennis (Junie) Kinley and Dorothy Glascoe Kinley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother.

On November 6, 1973, she married Randy Wayne Elberson, who survives of the home; also surviving are her son, Scotty Elberson and wife Kristen of Denton; daughter, Jennifer Peninger and husband Chad of Lexington; cherished grandmother of, Lorelei Elberson, Laken Elberson, and Temperance Bowers; 1 sister; and 3 brothers.
