DERBY- William “Bill” Briles, 80, passed away suddenly Monday, November 12, 2012. Visitation 1-8pm Friday, November 16, with family present 4-6pm; funeral service 10am Saturday, November 17, both at Smith Mortuary in Derby, KS. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Derby, KS. Born June 15, 1932 in Buffalo, Kansas he was preceded in death by his parents, Ezekiel and Gertrude (Smith) Briles, and his brother Donald. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Lee (Van Cleave) Briles; sister, Louis Briles of Tucson Arizona; son, Mark and wife Gina; grandsons, Jake and Justin of Derby, KS; son, Scott and wife Carolyn; grandsons Conrad and Chase of Leesburg, Virginia. Bobbie Eugene Crotts Sr., 83, passed Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Becks Reformed Church; Rev. Gerald Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Born April 1, 1929, in Davidson County, to James C. Crotts and Clatie Smith Crotts. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Younts Crotts, who died on July 19, 2007. Surviving are his wife, Della Moore Jenkins Crotts of the home; sons, Bradley Crotts and wife Michelle of Monroe, Eugene Crotts and wife Brenda of Green Core Springs, Fl.; daughter, Vickie Angell and husband Nat of Lexington; stepchildren, Donna Edwards and husband Tim of Lexington and Tim Kesler and wife Linda of Churchland; grandchildren, Brandon Crotts, Tyler Crotts, Madeline Crotts, Alexanderia Crotts, Bobbie J. Austin Gilbert Skeen Dies

Austin Gilbert Skeen, 92, passed Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Hillside Park Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Steve Chipps officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 – 2:00, prior to the service.Born on May 29, 1920, in Randolph County, the son of Alvah B. Skeen and Lessie Briles Skeen. On October 12, 1946, he married Rachel Inez Smith, who preceded him in death on June 20, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are two sons, Darrell Skeen of Thomasville, and Keith Skeen and wife Rhonda of High Point; three grandchildren, Jody Skeen, Lori Richmond, and Megan Skeen; two great grandchildren, Sarabeth Skeen and Kendra Richmond; and a special cousin, Linda Briles Williford. Charles L. Winslow, 80, of Thomasville, passed away, Monday, June 25, 2012, at his home. Funeral service will be held 2 pm, Thursday, June 28th, at Amity Hills Baptist Church; Rev. Barry Wall and Rev. Keith Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 until 8 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Born on June 13, 1932 in Randolph County, a son of the late, William Thomas and Alma Smith Winslow. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother William Hal Winslow. On January 16, 1960 he married the love of his life the former Janet Wall. Charles was employed with the US Postal Service and retired after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Janet Winslow of the home; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Hilton of High Point; and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Preceded in death by her husband Dalton “Bud” Clayton Lambeth, on December 23, 2001. Surviving are sons, Terry Lambeth and wife Sharon of Kure Beach, N.C. and Kenneth Lambeth and wife Janet of Thomasville; grandchildren, J. Chad Lambeth and wife Penny and Lindsey Drennan and husband Chris, both of Thomasville; a great-grandson, Nicholas Drennan; sisters, Ruth Osborne of Thomasville and Nancy Parker of High Point. Wilma Jean Snider Smith

Wilma Jean Snider Smith, 70, passed Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davie Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. Darren Crotts. Born in Davidson County on July 14, 1941, she was the daughter of Raymond Lawrence Snider and Pearl Marie Keaton Snider. Survived by her husband of 51 years, Dallas Smith; a daughter and son-in-law, Renee S. and Mark Howell; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Wayne and Cathy Foster Smith; a sister, Geraldyne Snider (Albert) Gosnell of Houston, Texas; a brother, Jerry Raymond (Marie) Snider of Raleigh; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Renee Howell and Trevor Wesley Smith.

Stokes Everett Hepler Jr. Dies Today

The BIN has learned of the passing of Stokes Everett "Sonny" Hepler Jr. who died today at his residence. Hepler is the son of the late Stokes Everett & Glady's Hooker Hepler and was married to Loucellier "Lou" Dossett Smith who survives. The BIN sends it condolences to the Hepler family.

Stokes Everett "Sonny" Hepler, Jr., 69, passed Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the Forsyth Medical Center. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 1 P.M. in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Born June12, 1942 in Davidson County, a son of Stokes E. Hepler. Sr. and Gladys Hooker Hepler. On August 18, 1962 he was married to Lu Smith, who survives of the home. Also surviving are a son Bart Hepler of Thomasville; a brother, Randy H. Hepler and wife Anne of Thomasville; step-mother, Jewell K. Hepler of Thomasville; step-sister, Sherry Nealey of Thomasville; step-brother, Randy Rollins and wife Sandy of Thomasville; a niece, Christy Thomas and husband Kevin and a great-niece and a great-nephew.
