Evadene J. Briles Turner

Evadene J. Turner, 87, Marion, passed away at her home on Monday, January 20, 2025.

She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Monday, March 22, 1937, to Marion and Stella (Dickey) Briles.

A funeral service to celebrate Evadene's life was held on Thursday, January 23, 2025 with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial followed at Knox Cemetery.

On May 28, 1955, Evadene married Delbert Eugene Turner, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Maurice Briles, Phil Briles, and Richard Briles; and sister, Betty Fosnough.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl Shorten of Marion; sons, Jerry (Tracy) Turner of Marion and Dennis (Karen) Turner of Marion; grandsons, Brian (Sarah) Shorten, Eric (Brooke) Shorten, Craig Turner, Andrew (Kira) Turner, Austin Turner, and Tyler (Wesley) Sloan; granddaughters, Amanda Turner, Stacy (Tom) Lovell, Jessica Sloan, Ashley Beckham, and Kelli (Leonard) Wynk; great-grandchildren, Mason, Mylam, Grace, Scott, Hallie, Jackson, Wayd, Kandis, Ryder, Tegan, Clayton, Korbin, and Ellie; great-great-grandchildren, Joliegh, RJ, and Wayd, Jr.; sister, Janet (David) McCord; sister-in-law, Beverly Briles; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth Wall

Ruth Wall, 93, of Randleman, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Hospice House of Randolph County in Asheboro, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in the Archdale Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Pastor Roger Carmichael officiating. The committal will follow the service at Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery in Asheboro, NC.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Ruth was born on February 3, 1931, to the late William R. Walker and the late Eula Rush.

In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Raymond Wall; and her nine brothers: Wade, Raeford, Charles, Otis, Joe, Billy, Jackie, Benson, and Paul Walker.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Ronnie Wall (Tammy) of Mebane and Dean Wall of Sophia; five grandchildren, Jeremy Wall (Jennifer), Jason Wall (Melinda), April Ward, Keith Wall, Krista Nance (Aaron) and six great-grandchildren.
