Gary Lynn Pierce

Gary Lynn Pierce, 70, of Liberty, died today, Sunday, March 21, 2021 at his residence.

The body will lie in repose from noon until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur. Graveside Services, 3:00 PM, Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Gilmore Memorial Park, Julian with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard;  Rev. Willie Murray officiating.

Gary was a native of Randolph County and lifelong resident of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his father, Gurney Ray Pierce.

Survivors: mother, Lois F. Pierce, of the home, sisters, Gladys Bray and husband, Larry, of Ramseur, Karen Lowe, of Liberty, Myrtle Griffin, of Greensboro, brother, Dallas Pierce, of Liberty.


Mr. Pierce's grandmother is Ila Briles Pierce

Jamie Evon Huffman

Jamie Evon Huffman, age 55, of Denton passed away on March 14, 2021 at Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Mrs. Huffman was born on August 19, 1965 in Davidson County to Jaffie Cletus and Ida Rea Welborn Hughes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jaffie and Ida Hughes.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary Huffman, a daughter, Julie Floyd of Lexington, a brother, Jaffie Cletus Hughes, Jr. (Betty) of Raleigh, N.C.

Mrs. Huffman's great grandmother is Martha Jane Briles Welborn

Leona Ruth Loflin Ingram

Leona Ruth Loflin Ingram, 84, of Denton, died Thursday, March 11, 2021 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Mrs. Ingram will lie in repose from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Randolph Memorial Park, with Dr. Brent Tysinger officiating.

Leona was born on February 28, 1937, in Randolph Co., to the late Henry Clay Loflin and Edith Hoover Loflin. 

In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelia Denette Creed.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Ingram; daughter, Cynthia Hunt (Kevin); sons, Allen Creed (Renee) Andy Creed (Tammy); sister, Gerline Sawyer; grandchildren, Ashlee Martin, Jaxon Snider, John Allen Creed, Ashton Creed; great grandchildren, Zander, Paige; step grandchild, Chase Hunt.

Clara Wood Loflin Dies, Mother is Ida Amy Briles Wood

Mrs. Clara Wood Loflin, 96, formerly of Pleasant Union Rd., Trinity, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Clapp’s Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro.

Mrs. Loflin will lie in state on Tuesday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 10, at Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tony Wood officiating.

Clara was born October 26, 1924, in Randolph County to Nummie Rufus Wood and Ida Amy Briles Wood. In addition to her parents Clara was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Loflin; sisters, Faye Byrum and Verlie Loflin; brothers, Clarence Wood; daughter-in-law, Vivian Hunt Loflin.

She is survived by her son, Randall Loflin of Trinity.
