Mrs. Opal Hill Helmstetler


Mrs. Opal Hill Helmstetler, 93, passed Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Hospice Home of High Point following a year of declining health. A Celebration of Opal's life will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplin Craig Walker. Entombment will follow in Floral Garden Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12 noon until the service. Born in Randolph County, June 15, 1925, a daughter of the late Lacy Hill and Martha Sawyer Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Helmstetler and four siblings, Ruth Dowd, Herman Hill, Lucy Hawkins and Raymond Hill and a son in law, Randal Reid. Surviving are a daughter Brenda Reid; a granddaughter, Teresa Ward and husband Freddy; a grandson, David Reid; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Lewis, Paige Lewis and Natasha Ward; two great-great-grandchildren, Landon Lewis and Carter Thomas; brother, Joe Hill (Ruby); sister-in-law Beulah Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
