A. Laurin Welborn, 88, of High Point passed Sunday, February 5, 2012. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8th from 6 until 8 pm at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 9th at Faith Baptist Church in Trinity at 2:00 pm, with grandson, Paul Welborn officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Cemetery.Born on August 14, 1923, to the late Laurin Bingham Welborn and Zeffie Hunt Welborn. Preceded in death by his brothers Thurman (Red) Welborn and Clyde Welborn. Surviving, his wife Lucille Madaris Welborn; three children: Stephen and wife Kathy Welborn of Trinity, Sylvia and husband Michael Kranish of Silver Spring, MD, and Kenneth Welborn of High Point. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Paul Welborn, Jessica Kranish, Laura Kranish, and one great-grandchild, Joseph Welborn, his sister, Hazel Saunders and her husband Darrell.
