Thelma Irene Sawyer Hill, age 96, passed on September 8, 2026 from TerraBella Assisted Living and Memory Care in Rock Hill, SC.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Midway Wesleyan Church Cemetery, 331 Worthville Road in Randleman with Rev. Arnold Luther officiating.

Born on August 25, 1930 to Carson and Fannie Pierce Sawyer

Preceded in death by her husband, David Hill, brother Webster Sawyer and sisters, Rachel Dickens and Mildred Sawyer.

She is survived by her children Pamela H. Armour of Waxhaw, NC and Randy Hill (Tanya) of Honor, MI; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister Judy Sawyer French (Larry) of Rock Hill, SC.

Ronda Rider Holmes, 77, passed Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Hinkle Hospice Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Davidson Funeral Chapel, Lexington, with Rev. Sandy Young and Rev. Amy Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Born on September 6, 1948, in Davidson County, to the late Aster Ray Rider, Sr. and Velna Summey Rider.

Surviving; her husband of 51 years, Paul W. Holmes; a brother, Aster (Sonny) Ray Rider, Jr. of Lexington; a niece, Kara Lewis (Alex); a nephew, Harrison Rider; a great-nephew, Oleander Lewis; and a great-niece, Azelea Lewis.

Mrs. Holmes grandmother is Gertrude Briles Summey.
