Barbara June Towe Cain

Barbara June Towe Cain, 74, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2012, at her home. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Shelton Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Ted Turner and the Rev. Deward Scott officiating. Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Wake: Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Shelton Church of the Brethren. Born March 24, 1938, in Surry County, one of eleven children born to the late Albert Cicero and Bessie Cornelia Gambill Towe. Survived by her husband, Hurley Lee Cain of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita Marion and Lisa and Ronald Parsons, all of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Casey Marion and his wife, Christa, of Jacksonville, FL, and Myra Parsons and Tyler Parsons, both of Mount Airy; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Cain Marion and Kinsley Marion, both of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vernell and Ray Goins of Mount Airy and Jewel Holder of Thomasville; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Dare Towe of King; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilcher Sam Goins; a grandson, Joshua Lee Marion; four sisters, Charlcia Lue Towe, Haver Riggs, Pauline Floyd, and Joyce Towe; and three brothers, Herbert Towe, Harvey Towe, and William “Bill” Towe. No Briles line. Great niece Tosha Medlin is married to Rodney Trent Briles, curator of the BIN.

Donald Franklin Medlin Dies

Donald Franklin Medlin, 64 of High Point passed Tuesday, January 17th at his home. A memorial service to celebrate the life Donald Franklin Medlin will be held 2:00 pm Saturday in the Life Tribute Center of Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point. The family will greet friends following the service. Born May, 20, 1947 in Guilford Co, Mr. Medlin is a son of the late Everett Medlin and Aries Pike Medlin. He was a veteran of the US Army. Survived by his life partner Pat K. Barnes and two children; Brett Medlin and wife Ann of Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and Eric Medlin and wife Christi of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is also survived by Pat’s children; Brian Barnes of High Point and Susan Barnes Sepe and husband Joseph of Palm Coast, Florida, seven grandchildren and a sister Crystal Medlin Curry and husband Allen of Thomasville and Ken Swaim of Thomasville, who had been like a son to him.

Stokes Everett Hepler Jr. Dies Today

The BIN has learned of the passing of Stokes Everett "Sonny" Hepler Jr. who died today at his residence. Hepler is the son of the late Stokes Everett & Glady's Hooker Hepler and was married to Loucellier "Lou" Dossett Smith who survives. The BIN sends it condolences to the Hepler family.

Stokes Everett "Sonny" Hepler, Jr., 69, passed Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in the Forsyth Medical Center. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 1 P.M. in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Born June12, 1942 in Davidson County, a son of Stokes E. Hepler. Sr. and Gladys Hooker Hepler. On August 18, 1962 he was married to Lu Smith, who survives of the home. Also surviving are a son Bart Hepler of Thomasville; a brother, Randy H. Hepler and wife Anne of Thomasville; step-mother, Jewell K. Hepler of Thomasville; step-sister, Sherry Nealey of Thomasville; step-brother, Randy Rollins and wife Sandy of Thomasville; a niece, Christy Thomas and husband Kevin and a great-niece and a great-nephew. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to Hospice of Davidson County in Lexington, N.C. J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family.
