Blanche Parrish Bray Dies; Line to Briles

Blanche Parrish Bray, age 86 formerly of Bescher Chapel Road, Trinity, NC passed today, Monday, November 26 at Carillon Assisted Living in Asheboro.cA graveside service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday at Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist church Cemetery with Mr. Mac Summey, Jr. officiating. The family will see friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Born June 13, 1926 in Randolph County to Onslow Parrish and Velora Wood Parrish; preceded her in death by her husband Robert Bray. Survived by a son, Bobby Joe Bray and wife Gail of Denton; daughter Wanda Bray Wall and husband Walter of Winston-Salem; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Kenneth Leonard Phillips

Kenneth Leonard Phillips, 90, a long-time Lexington resident, passed away on Oct. 18, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice of Davidson County. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, Cotton Grove Road, with the Rev. Brian Rummage and Rev. Bill Sosebee officiating. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. at the church before the service and burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery at 3:30pm. Born in Lexington on Nov. 24, 1921, to Ira Lee Phillips and Minnie Esther Leonard Phillips.Ken married Josephine Farabee Phillips in 1943 and they were married for 49 years before she passed away in April 1992. They had four children – Dianne Phillips Campbell of Lexington, James Kenneth Phillips (Janie) of Clemmons, Michael Ira Phillips (Gail) of Winston-Salem and Joseph Farabee Phillips (Karin) of Charlotte. In addition to his four children, he is survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Survived by a sister Hilda Phillips Smith of Charlotte and a brother B. Willis Phillips (Betty Carole) of Greensboro. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Josephine Farabee Phillips, and his brothers Bain Phillips, Morris Phillips and Blake Phillips. He also lost a sister, Marlene Phillips, who died at age five in 1941. Ken remarried and is survived by his wife Ruth Sharpe Phillips and family, Donna & George Washington Tesh of Arcadia and Barbara and Chuck Adams of Hickory. His present wife, Ruth Sharpe has ties to Briles (John & Hannah Briles Hepler)

Peggy Gordon Grubb

Peggy Gordon Grubb, “Nana”, 73, passed died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dr. E. Keith Carroll and Rev. Carroll Upton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born on July 11, 1939 in Davidson County to William Beauford Gordon and Emma Jane Bryant Gordon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Jean Gordon. On February 10, 1957, she married William McKinley “Sonny” Grubb, Jr., who survives of the home; also surviving are her children, Chris Grubb and wife Natalie, Angie Grubb Conner and husband Mark, Tracy Grubb Joyner and husband Gary, all of Thomasville, and Janice Frazier Grubb of Lexington; grandchildren, Ryan Grubb, Erin Hager, Troy Conner and wife Jamie, Jake Conner, Cody Joyner, twins, Holly Jane and Robby Wayne Joyner; aunt, who was like a sister, Betty Kindley of Thomasville and aunts, Iola Leonard and Lora Bryant both of Thomasville, and Ethel Brown of High Point. Inez Parrish Bean Passes

Inez Parrish Bean, 90, passed Monday, June 4, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Stoneman and Rev. Darrell Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Trinity, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 pm on Tuesday. Born to the late Oscar E. and Ida Lee Myers Parrish on January 10, 1922. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother, Roy E. Parrish; sisters, Eva P. Freeman and Eutha P. Small; and a sister-in-law, Ehtel S. Parrish. On June 21, 1943 she was married to Paul Franklin Bean who predeceased her on February 17, 1963. Surviving is her daughter, Marsha Bean Hayduk of High Point; a sister, Ruby Parrish Loflin of High Point; a brother, Albert Parrish and his wife Alice of Trinity, NC and several nieces and nephews.
