Wallace Eugene Briles

Mr. Wallace Eugene Briles, 68, a resident of Thomasville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening at his residence.  

No formal services will be held at this time. 

Born September 15, 1955, in Washington, DC, to the late Wallace Elwood Briles and Gladys Hill Briles. Vietnam Veteran/United States Navy   

He survived by his daughter, Jeannie Scott and husband Billy of Monmouth, OR; his sister, Ollie Thompson and husband Joe of Hebron, MD; his sister-in-law, Rita Briles of FL; five grandchildren, Quentin Mulberry Ad wife Darian, Cheyanne Mulberry, Elizabeth Scott, Madeline Scott and Hope Scott; three great-grandchildren, Blakely, Asher and Hadlee; his girlfriend, Jenny Cavanagh.

'BIN STORIES" Podcast


The Briles Information Radio Network will be replaced by a new podcast called 'BIN STORIES". Production for the new series will begin in 2025. The radio station was discontinued earlier today due to low listenership and no revenue income. 

It should also be noted this BLOG may serve as the main page for the Briles Information Network in the near future (i.e. no more www.briles.net) Web site hosting and renewal of domain name(s) has become cost prohibited for us with no income revenue or private donations.

Barbara Jean Luck Fogleman


Barbara Jean Luck Fogleman, 88, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service, and other times at the home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Pendell officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery.

Mrs. Fogleman was born in Randolph Co., on August 7, 1936, the daughter of the late Murphy Luck and Cora Hoover Luck.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fogleman was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Fogleman; daughters, Wanda Bullins, Jackie King, and Deborah Vanderford.

Barbara is survived by her son, Sonny Hayes (Peggy); sister, Joyce Pickett; grandchildren, William Vanderford (Dawn), Micheal Vanderford, Anglia Vanderford, Jessica Butler, Sonny Hayes, Emmie Goins (Ryan); eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Corrina Sue Durst

Corrina Sue Durst, 66, passed on August 5, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, Friday, August 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Bynum officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Friday.

She was born on October 4, 1957, to Dennis Thomas and Naomi Pearl Briles.

Corrina is proceeded in death by her daughter, Amber Varian; parents, Naomi Pearl and Dennis Thomas Briles; mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Nellie Durst.

Corrina is survived by her loving husband, Dale Durst; her daughter, Diana (Bryan) Varney; grandchildren, Zachary Fields, Madison Varney, and Mikayla Varney; brother, Paul (Love) Briles; nephews, Andrew and Ezra Briles.

Clyde Lee Hunt

Clyde Lee Hunt, 78, of Lexington, passed away August 3, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Lexington.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 5 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Shiloh Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Paul Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends in the church one hour before the service.

Clyde was born August 28, 1945, in Davidson County, to John Thomas Hunt and Sallie Story Hunt. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tom Hunt, sisters, Josphine (Sissy) Rowland, Margaret (Handsome) Wall, Judy (Dumpy) Berrier.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Berrier Hunt, of the home, sons, C.L. Hunt and wife Lisa, Mark Hunt and wife Susan, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Bailey, Austin, Clay, and Chase, brother, Ellis (Fuzzy) Hunt and wife Debra of Holden Beach, NC, sister, Lorine (Noodie) Gobble of Mocksville.
