Robert William Kindley Dies

Robert William Kindley, 84,  passed away, Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Pine Ridge Health and Rehab. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Mabe officiating. Born April 3, 1929 in Davidson Co. NC son of the late Jacob Kindley and Bertha Hunt Kindley; preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Betty Ann Kindley; two sisters, Pauline Kindley Hughes, Maglene Sheffield; three brothers, Billy Joe Kindley, Charlie Kindley and Carl Kindley. He was married to Ruby Summey Kindley who preceded him in death. Surviving are, five sons, William Lee Kindley and wife Janet, Donald Ray Kindley and wife Edith all of Thomasville, Randy Dale Kindley of Linwood, NC, Marshall Wayne Kindley and wife Linda and Brian O’Neal Kindley all of Thomasville; two sisters, Fannie Bullins and husband Kenneth and Judy Grubb and husband Michael all of Thomasville; Four Brothers, Jacob Odell Kindley and wife Lois of Lexington, Paul Kindley of Trinity, Garland Kindley and wife Mary of Pleasant Garden and Glenn Kindley of Thomasville; seven grandchildren, April Stacy, Marsha Edwards, Crystal Kindley, Kristy Branson, Kelly Cook, Misty Sechrest and Kimberly Kindley and twelve great grandchildren.

Daughter of Briles Dies

Kathleen Black Mabe, 78, passed Monday evening, May 20, 2013 in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 2 P.M. in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Myra Ward-Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born September 19, 1934 in Randolph County, a daughter of the late James Lee Black and Nannie Briles Black. She was married to Billy James Mabe, who died October 31, 1982. Surviving are sons, Randy Mabe of High Point, Kevin Mabe and wife Sharon and Danny Mabe and wife Pam, both of Trinity; granddaughters, Kayla Mabe and fiancé Jake Simpkins and Danielle Mabe; and a brother, Eugene Black of Trinity.

Hazel Dorsett Davis

Hazel Dorsett Davis 85, died Sunday in the Universal Health Care in Ramseur. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church in Trinity by the Rev. James Bowen. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwight Walker, Jack Blevin, Jack Hughes, Jim Davis, Kermit Pierce and Russell Draughn. Born June l7, l927 in Randolph County a daughter of Truman and Florence Farlow Dorsett. She was married to Frank Monroe Davis Jr. who preceded her in death. Surviving are l son; Steven Davis and wife Jill of 4149 Craven Pine Rd. Sophia; l Sister; Mrs. Gladys Hill and husband Kenneth of Burlington; 2 Grandchildren; Josh Davis and wife Brandy and Meredith Brust and husband Mike; 3 Great Grandchildren Kate Elizabeth and Carter Michael Brust and Jillian Lane Davis.

Elizabeth “Lib” Hoover Satterfield Kessler, 86, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Kindred Hospital. Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Jody Harrison and Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Native of Randolph County, NC, born May 13, 1927 the daughter of the late Robert Ray Hoover and Queen Lillian Kindley Hoover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Steven E. Satterfield, and her second husband, George H. Kessler. Survived by her daughter, Darlene Satterfield, of Asheboro, NC; son, Timothy Satterfield and wife, Pam, of Harrisburg, NC; brothers, Coy Hoover and wife, Julia, Virgil Hoover, all of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Daniel Lowder; great granddaughter, Sophia Lowder.

A Chapel Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jack Hurley, Jr. officiating: interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point. Born November 16, 1922 in Randolph County to the late Frank and Myrtle Rush Hunt. Preceded in death by her husband, Jack Austin; son, Henry Austin; daughter, Rhonda Austin. Survived by daughters, Sherri Webster, Dana McKitrick and Jackie Pryce; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Hilda Hill Briles Dies

Hilda Hill Briles, age 77, of Asheboro died Monday, May 13, 2013 at her home. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel Asheboro with Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.  Born in Randolph County to Blake and Margaret Hunt Hill. In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Harold Briles who passed on October 25, 2003; brother Roy Leon Hill and his wife Betty, and sister Golda Hill Stephens and her husband Bill. Survived by her daughter, Amy L. Briles of Asheboro; sister, Joyce Hill McGee and her husband James of Asheboro; brothers, Bobby Franklin Hill of Asheboro and Thomas Reid Hill and his wife Louise of Sophia.
