Ben Howard Davis, 80, of Asheboro, NC, passed Monday, July 30, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Native of Randolph County, NC, born August 3, 1931. He was the son of the late Robert Lester Davis and Elbie Florence Kearns Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wade Davis and sister, Edna Davis. Survived by his wife, Rozine Hurley Davis, of the home; daughters, Denise Beane Williams, of Asheboro, NC, Ginger D. Violet Floyd Sexton Passes

WHITEVILLE- Violet Lorraine Floyd Sexton, 83 passed July 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Harold Shives. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. Born April 21, 1929 in High Point, the daughter of Marvin Reid and Florence Carroll Floyd who both preceded her in death along with two sisters, Ada Frazier and Lois Marie Yates and a granddaughter, Lauren Brooke Andrews. Married to Ed (Penn) Lindy Sexton, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 9, 2002. Jury Selection to Begin Monday

Jury selection will begin on Monday in death penalty case against Delmer Smith in Florida. He is accused of killing Kathleen Briles, wife of prominent doctor, Dr. James Briles of Florida in 2009. Judge Peter Dubensky denied state and defense motions to delay in selecting a jury, which will proceed next week. Smith is already serving a life sentence without parole for several armed home invasions, robbery and armed kidnapping. He is suspect in several other major crimes in Florida. The BIN will continue to monitor the events in Florida!

Louise Berrier Floyd, 89, passed away Wednesday morning, July 25, 2012, at Lexington Health Care. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Morasco. Lillian Elizabeth Conrad Skeen, 93, passed Friday evening, July 20, 2012 at the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11 A.M. in Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Born October 19, 1918 in Davidson County, a daughter of Henry Estes Conrad and Hattie Dillon Conrad. On September 21, 1940 she was married to Hal Skeen, who died April 30, 1973. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Fowler and a brother Glenn Conrad. Letha Marie Briles Doolittle, age 87, of San Bernardino died at home on June 26 of natural causes. Born October 29, 1922 in Davidson County to John Henry Hughes and Elda Varner Hughes, who preceded her in death.
