Harrison Leon Skeen Dies

Harrison Leon Skeen, 82, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at his home. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane and Dr. Wallace Gaither. Burial will be at noon with military honors at National Cemetery in Salisbury. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Born Oct. 30 1930, in Randolph County to Robert G. Skeen and Stella Mae Ferguson Skeen. His parents and his very loving stepmother, Ila Mae Skeen, preceded him in death, as well as his sister, Melva Parker, and his brothers, Harrison Burrow and Leon Burrow. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Marr Skeen of the home; his sons, Woodrow Dane Milton and wife Lisa, Thomas Daryl Milton and wife Jennifer, Mark Christopher Skeen and wife Alice and Robert F. Skeen and wife Shane, all of Lexington, and Harrison Leon Skeen Jr. and wife Teresa of Missouri; his grandchildren, Ryan, Logan, Brandon, Kayla, Meghan, Tyler, Dillon, Christopher, Audrey and Alea; his great-granddaughter, Jaelyn; his sisters, Ann Burton and husband Joe and Jean Seward; his brother, Olin Skeen; and his special loving dogs, Tippy and Theodore.
