Lydian Eleanor Beck Dies
Lydian Eleanor Beck, 21 of Lexington died Saturday December 22, 2012 at Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem from injuries received in a car accident. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday December 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Becks Lutheran Church with Rev. Angie Jackson officiating. Family will receive friends in the Becks Lutheran Church Parlor from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service. Born in Davidson County on November 21, 1991 to Howard Kent Beck and Sam Leonard Beck; preceded in death by her grandfather, Howard Lohr Beck. Surviving are her parents of the home, brother, Barret Beck, of Lexington and sister Lohr Beck of Atlanta GA, grandparents, Brice and Jean Sheets Leonard and Mae Snider Beck all of Lexington, by Tony Beck and Donna Younts, Shawn and Amy (Leonard) De Forest, all of Lexington, Cindy Leonard of Winston Salem and Art Leonard of Lexington, cousins, Melanie & Stuart Leonard.

Cynthia Ann Beck Martin Dies
Cynthia Ann Beck Martin, 55, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Born in Davidson County on June 13, 1957, to the late James Vernon and Helen Whitlock Beck. Survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerry Wayne Martin Sr.; three sons, Jerry Wayne Martin Jr.; Travis James Martin and Tabitha; and Bradley Aaron Martin; a stepson, Chris Berrier; a sister, Brenda Beck Clary; three grandchildren, Taehlyn Grey Martin, Tucker James Martin and Jacob Ashton Martin; and her mother-in-law, Mary T. Martin.

Donald Ray Fritts
Donald Ray Fritts, age 81, of Denton passed Tuesday, November 13 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington following a brief illness. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 17 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Benny Clodfelter and Mr. Wayne Markham officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Born May 13, 1931 in Randolph County to Carl and Daisy Beck Fritts. He was preceded in death by his wife and sweetheart Rita Jill Wright Fritts who died February 7, 2009. Survived by four sons, Larry Fritts and wife Michelle of Louisburg, Danny Fritts of Thomasville, Tommy Fritts and wife Teresa of Denton and Tim Fritts and wife Susan of San Diego, California, one brother, Dempsey Fritts of Thomasville and one sister Mary Clark of Arkansas, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

HIGH POINT- Peggy Ann (Beck) Walton, 79, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. A graveside service will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.Born on August 4, 1933 in Davidson County a daughter of the late Will Roscoe and Mary Lou (Crouse) Beck. Preceded in death by her husband Donald Thomas Walton and a son, Darrell Walton. Survived by two daughters, Barbara Lucas of High Point, and Brenda Hoover and her husband, Curtis of Trinity; four sons, Danny Walton of High Point, David Walton of Trinity, Brian Walton of High Point, and Joseph Walton and his wife, Jeanette of Thomasville; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Walton of Sophia; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Lilly Gallimore, Jewel Vaughn and her husband, Harvey, and Vergie May Hulian, all of Thomasville; a brother, Billy Beck and his wife, Rachael of Thomasville; a sister-in-law, Annie Johnson of High Point; neighborhood girlfriends, Sarah, Barbara and Mary; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at Beck's Lutheran Church by Rev. Angie Jackson on Monday, September 3, at 11 am. Born April 2, 1920 to the late James Paul & Addie Mae Burkhart Beck. preceded in death by her husband James Paul Beck; and her brother, Arlin Briggs. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Dr. Richard Whitten, Carrollton, GA; three grandchildren and their fiancées, Richard Whitten, Jr and Amy Junne, Irvine, CA; Paula Beck Whitten and Oliver Doolin, Houston, TX; and Charlie Whitten and Katie Cerling, Minneapolis, MN. She is also survived by her three sisters, Ruby Delk Harris of Denton; Edith Briggs Honeycutt of Lexington and Wilma Briggs Byerly of Lexington; one brother-in-law, Clifford Beck of Denton and numerous nieces and nephews.

NC daughter of the late Ambrose Beck and Bessie Jeanetta Myers Beck.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Nifong; six sisters, Loma Rothrock, Dovie Byerly, Ruby Sullivan, Mattie Rickard, Eula Mae Murphy and Hida Rea Tuttle; five brothers, Fred Beck, Olin Beck, Gilbert Beck, Roy Beck and Howard Beck. HIGH POINT-Rafael Francis “Ray” Hill, 76 of High Point passed away Wednesday, February 15th at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday in the Berean Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Baity officiating. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm (one hour prior to the service) at the church. Native of Guilford County, Ray was born August 7th, 1935 and had been a resident of this area most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Carter Blair and Marqious Merdith Blair(NOTE: father is Andrew Jackson Hill Jr.). Surviving are his wife of twenty nine years, Betty Sue Beck Hill of the home; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Royal and Charlie Carroll of Kernersville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Frances Leona Lorraine Beck Tysinger, 91, passed Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Lexington Health Care. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Born on August 13, 1920 in Davidson County to Ira Clarence Beck and Mary Elizabeth Yarborough Beck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Harvey Tysinger; brothers, Charles Beck and Harold Beck, Sr.; and sister, Vera Beck. Surviving are her sons, Charles F. Tysinger and wife Pam of Atlanta, GA and Bill C. Tysinger of Thomasville; sister, Wanda Tysinger of Thomasville; grandchildren, Lori Wattay and husband Alex, Gregg Tysinger, Mark Tysinger, and Justin Tysinger; and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Naomi Wattay.

Jacques L. Beck, 89, passed Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at University Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 825 Greene St., Augusta, Ga., by Pastor David Hunter. Mr. Beck is the son of the late Wesley Odell & Mary Callahan Beck. Survivors include son David Earl Beck; daughter Linda Beck Smith; daughter-in-law Elaine Beck; four grandchildren, David W. Beck and Kacy, Jackie and Rob Smith; great-granddaughter Chloe Kira Wolfson; brother Ned Beck; and nieces and nephews.

Velna Hilton Eddinger Beck, 92, passed Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Wake Forest Baptist Health — Lexington Medical Center. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hedrick's Grove United Church of Christ by the Rev. William Sowers. Burial will follow in the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thomasville. Born Sept. 9, 1919, in Davidson County to Kearney Lorenzo Hilton and Sophronia Ball Hilton. She was married to Clarence Reid Eddinger, who passed away in 1946. In 1950, she married Charlie Lee Beck, who also preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Bernie Hilton and Leighton Hilton, and her sisters, Olieta Ball and Louise Sue Cranford. Survived by her son, Billy Reid Eddinger and wife Jonell of Lexington; her daughters, Sybil Eddinger Koonts and husband Will and Gay Eddinger Farrell, all of Lexington; her brother, Wilfred L. Hilton of Thomasville; her grandchildren, Reid Eddinger and wife Diane, Sean Farrell, Tracie Anderson and husband Kevin, Brian Michael Koonts and wife Meredith and Jill Anderson and husband Carter; and her great-grandchildren, Brandi Eddinger, Austin Eddinger, Kinsley Caroline Anderson, Beckham Anderson, Molly Hilton Koonts, Jacob Michael Koonts, Jessica Farrell and Tristan Farrell.

Born in Davidson County, February 5, 1929 to John Henry Beck and Ollie Everhart Loggins Beck. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank Loggins and Leonard Beck; sisters, Lillie Beck Crotts and Inez Beck Fritts. Surviving are; his wife, Juanita Bates Beck of the home; in-laws, Peggy Bates, Marzell Crotts, Brenda Bates, Jack Kennedy, J.W. and Betty Bates; special nieces and nephew, Susan Odom, Donna Younts, Glenda Hobbs and Gary Bates and many other loved and cherished nieces and nephews.
