Mrs. Howell was born in Forsyth County on October 30, 1934 to Thomas and Mattie Pierce Robbins. In addition to her parents, Lib was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl "Bob" Howell, son, Timmy Howell, and brothers, Pierce and Lloyd Robbins.

Doris was born July 01, 1934 in Davidson County to the late Dewey Lee Welborn, Sr. and Ocia Hughes Welborn. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Roy Hayes on May 9, 1995; two brothers, Dewey Welborn, Jr. and Bobby Welborn.
Surviving are her two sons, Randall Lee Hayes of the home and Tony Wayne Hayes of Lexington; one daughter, Deborah Hayes Chod and husband Robert A. Chod of Sarasota, Florida; two brothers, Charles Welborn and wife Shelby of Thomasville and Joe Grooms and wife Patsy of Lexington; one grandson, Adam Wayne Hayes of Thomasville; one great-granddaughter, Emmie Lou Hayes; and one daughter-in-law, Teresa Hayes of Thomasville.
William Allen Farlow
William Allen Farlow, 84, resident of Trinity, died November 5, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Mr. Jerry Farlow officiating. A private interment will follow the service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday.
He was born May 7, 1937 in Randolph County, a son to Allen and Millie Sink Farlow. US Veteran of the United States Army National Guard.
In 1963, he married the former Shirley Ann Wilcox who preceded him in death in 1981. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Farlow (Peggy) and three sisters, Doris Lilly (Walter), Phyllis Lowdermilk (Roy) and Louise Wall (Lyn). Surviving is his daughter, Kaye Martin and husband Ronnie of Trinity; four grandchildren, Joseph Martin (Julia), Rebecca Dixon (Joe), Ben Martin (Crystal), and Sarah Ritner (John) and six great-grandchildren, Weston, Jude, Caden, Silas, Luke, and Jett.

HIGH POINT - Jack Alson Kearns, 88, died Friday, October 29, 2021, at High Point Medical Center. We are waiting on the full death notice from Cumby F.H.
Funeral service celebrating Jack’s life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 1, 2021, at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Pastor Joseph Kim and Pastor Mark Kearns officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Monday at the church prior to the service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caroline Kearns; two sisters, Anna Ruth Williams and Betty Smith; two brothers, Hiatt Kearns and Gene Kearns; and a beloved dog, Toby.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hoke Kearns, whom he married on February 23, 1965; two sons, Andy Kearns (fiancee, Donna Hughes) of Trinity and Tim Kearns (wife, Mary) of Wallburg; three grandchildren, Brandon Kearns, Brian Kearns, and Christina Kearns; great-grandson, Mason Kearns; and his beloved dog, Taco.

Mr. Dolan Ervin Pierce, 76, passed Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Hospice Home at High Point.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Gary Myers officiating. Mr. Pierce will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the cemetery 30 minutes prior to the graveside service and he will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM for members of the community to pay their respects. No formal visitation will be held.
Mr. Pierce was born on October 25, 1944 in Randolph County, NC to Royce Reece Pierce and Millie Frances Barnes Pierce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Pierce; and three sisters, Jewel Watford, Pauline Gordon, and Mary Hughes.

Paula Marie Kindley, 48, of Thomasville was located in the woods near Chevy Chase Street and Jones Meadow Drive after being reported missing earlier in the week. Case is being classified as a homicide. Kindley had obvious signs of trauma. No suspect(s) at this time. Ms. Kindley is seven generations back to Margaret Briles Kindley.
James Franklin Kinley Dies
James was born on January 15, 1952 to the late Wade Dennis Kinley and Dorothy Glascoe Kinley in Guilford County. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Farmer Kinley in 2014; two siblings, John Kinley, Louise Elberson; a son-in-law, Troy Wilson.

Thomas was born April 29, 1946 in Irvington, the son of the late Herman and Maude Williams Chism. His sister, Kathleen Elliott; two brothers, Frank Basham and James E. Chism; and in-laws, Leo and Minnie Briles also preceded him in death.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army, who served in Vietnam.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Donna E. Gerald Austin Barnhart, 84, of Independence, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, August 17th, 2021, at Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Thursday, August 19th, with the family greeting friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, August 20th at 1:00 pm at Potts Chapel with interment immediately following at Neodesha Cemetery.
Born to Charles and Ruth (Briles) Barnhart on November 20, 1936, in Neodesha, Kansas. In 1958, Gerald married Charlotte Scott. The two later divorced. He then married Delores Labarr in 2007 in Miami, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Barnhart, sons, Scott Leroy and Jeffery Ray Barnhart, brothers, James, Merle, and Clyde Barnhart and sisters, Daisey Gullick and Betty Oyler.

He was born on June 13, 1932 in Greene County, Indiana, the son of Austin and Ada (Strauser) Briles. He married Dolores Calhoun on July 21, 1957 in Weedman, Illinois. Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dee; his two brothers, Charlie and Edgar Briles; and two sisters, Martha Loder and Luella Harper.
John is survived by two sons, Kevin (Terri) Briles and Craig (Marci) Briles both of Bloomington; his grandchildren Travis Briles; Joshua Briles; MacKenzie (Trey) Smith; Benjamin Briles; Nicholson (Ashlan) Briles; Maxwell Briles; Jonathan Briles and Brandi (Shawn) Langley; four great grandchildren, Marley Briles; Nick Langley; Brenna Langley and Ryan Langley; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Varner was born in Davidson County January 1, 1934 to Clement Wilson Lanier and Odetta Kindley Lanier. She was married to C Tyler Varner who died May 26, 2021. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Ty Varner and by sisters Kathleen Bisher and Laverna Cummings.
She is survived by her son, Todd Varner and wife Leslie of Denton; grandsons Will Varner and Ty Varner and financee Helen Jenkins; great grandchild, Sutton Rae Varner; and a sister Dot Landrum.

Asheboro- Jerry C Peacock, 77, died suddenly Thursday, July 22, 2021, of a heart attack at his home. Born February 20, 1944 in Asheboro, he was the son of the late Jones Peacock, and Leona Miller Peacock.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service, 304 Lanier Ave, Asheboro, NC 27203. Jerry’s body will be transported to Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 2661 Ross Wood Rd, Trinity, NC 27370 for a military graveside service. Preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his long-time partner and loving companion Shelby Rouse, and her daughter Shannon; brother, Darrell Peacock and his wife Sarah; nephews, Frank Peacock and Greg Peacock; special cousins, Henry West, Steve Miller and Rick Miller; as well as a host of other cousins, dear friends, and neighbors. Jerry will be greatly missed by all.

Velna Summey Rider Dies
Mrs. Velna Summey Rider, age 90 of Old US Hwy # 64, Lexington, NC died Monday, July 19 at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 23 at Cid United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Treece and Rev. Doug Rowe. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
Mrs. Rider was born in Randolph County on December 9, 1930 to Jesse Summey and Gertrude Briles Summey. She was married to Aster R Rider, Sr. who died July 29, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by a grandson, Jon Rider, a brother Aster Summey and by sisters, Frances Leonard, Rachael Jones, Eva Hill and Magdalene Myers.
She is survived by a son, Aster R (Sonny) Rider, Jr. of Lexington and by a daughter Ronda R Holmes and husband Paul of Trinity and by grandchildren Kara Lewis and Harrison Rider.

A visitation will be held at O.R. Woodyard Funeral Home South Chapel in Columbus OH. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Chapel.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, David Gray; mother, Joyce Briles (Greg) Fernan; daughters, Megan Gray, Alea (Shawn) Overly, and Kristin Gray; grandchildren, Jayden, Julia, S.J., Cali, Hazel, and Camilla; many other family members and friends.

Mark Lyle Briles, of Evart, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 10, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born on December 31, 1956.
"Fishing in Memory" will be held on Saturday, June 19,2021 at 1 p.m. at Rose Lake (Osceola County Park) located at 17726 Youth Dr, Leroy Mi 49655.
Mark's death was preceded by; his parents, Wayne and Theresa (Carter) Briles; brothers, Wayne Briles and Kenneth Briles; sister; Margaret "Peggy" Briles; as well as one grandchild.
Mark was survived by; the children of his heart; Tina (Mike) Bessey, Joseph Briles, Amy Briles, Ben Dixon-Briles, Wayne Briles, and Vera Briles; siblings, Dale (Alice Carrier) Briles, Hazen (Diana) Briles, Edith Briles, Shelly Briles, Katie Clements, and Irene Briles; along with many grandchildren of his heart and one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews as well as many greats; and lots of other loving family members and friends.
