Margaret Catherine Nifong Crotts Lanier
ADVANCE-Margaret Catherine Nifong Crotts Lanier, 88, passed Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at her home. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eaton Funeral Chapel, Mocksville by the Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Interment will follow in Fulton United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born Oct. 5, 1924, in Davidson County to Walter Eugene and Addie Lenora Everhart Nifong. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lenora Lanier; a son, Larry Hubert Crotts; and five siblings, Albert Nifong, Bill Nifong, Pauline Head, Edna Mae Head and Martha Perryman. Survived by her husband, Joe Dean Lanier Sr. of the home; four children, Rickey Eugene Crotts (Okhui) of Lexington, Linda Cornatzer of Advance and Cindy Cornatzer (Dale) and Joe Lanier Jr. (Mary), all of Mocksville; seven grandchildren, Charles Crotts (Alexis), Chris Cornatzer (Sarah), Chad Cornatzer, Brandi Patti (Victor), Derek Cornatzer, Christy Smith and Gene Smith; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Cockman, and a brother, Frank Nifong, both of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
