Gurney Gray Turner Dies

Gurney Gray Turner, 55, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Monday, April 30 at New Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Lunsford officiating; interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. Born April 2, 1957 in Guilford County to John & Mary Medlin Turner. He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Turner. Survived by his loving wife Deborah of the home; a brother, Ronnie Turner and wife Linda and a sister, Mary Simmons and husband Will, all of Thomasville; niece, Virgie O'neil; nephew, Eddy Stephenson and friend to the end, Phil Hemric; great nieces, Evie Rich, Brooke Smith; great nephew, Blake Stephenson.

Alta Pearl Dorsett Proctor

TRINITY-Alta Pearl Dorsett Proctor, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting. Family will receive friends immediately following burial. Preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Proctor, who passed on March 25, 2005.

Edward (Ed) Briles Doolittle

Edward (Ed) Briles Doolittle, age 63, of San Bernardino passed at home on March 23 due to heart failure. A celebration of life service was held at 4 pm on April 6, 2012 at the University of Redlands Alumni House. Born in Emporia Kansas as the first of George and Letha Briles Doolittle's four children. Survived by his mother, Letha; and his siblings, Lloyd Doolittle, Phillip Doolittle and Lea Anne Doolittle and their families.

His mother Letha Briles Doolittle's line is Edward Osmond Briles, Edward Grant Briles, Noah Washington Briles and so on.

Euna Hunt Kennedy Passes

TRINITY-Euna Hunt Kennedy, age 95, passed Sunday, April 22, 2012. Private services was held at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Trinity, NC. Native and lifelong resident of Randolph County, born August 4th, 1916 a daughter of the late John and Rosa Evans Hunt. Her husband of fifty two years, Albert Kennedy passed away on December 9th, 1993.Surviving are her daughters, Carmelle LaMarr and her husband Dr. Bobby LaMarr of Trinity and Christine Moore and her husband Don of Maryland. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Melinda Ellis and her husband Eric of Trinity, Phyllis McCutchen and her husband Dr. Quinn McCutchen of Clemmons, Donna Moore of Maryland and Michael Moore and his wife Dawn of Maryland; four great-grandchildren, Jessica McClure and her husband Pastor Jeremiah McClure, Nathaniel Ellis, Jocelyn Jackson, Trevor Jackson and three great-great-grandchildren, Selah McClure and Meraya McClure and Amiah McClure.

HIGH POINT-Anne Hill Fries, age 90, passed Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her residence in the arms of her daughter, Debbie. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 28th at 2:00 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Micah Ray officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Mrs. Fries will be taken to Harrisonburg, Virginia on Monday for a visitation from 2:00 until 3:00pm in the Kyger-Trobaugh Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, April 30th at 3:00 p.m. in the Eastlawn Cemetery in Harrisonburg. Born September 27, 1921 in Thomasville to the late Cicero and Mary Lambeth Hill. Preceded in death by her husband Ward M. Fries on November 13, 1998. (m. May 23, 1944); four sisters, five brothers, and her husband on November 13, 1998. Surviving are her daughter; Deborah McDonald and husband Bob of Warrenton, Virginia. She is survived by many loving family members on both the Hill and Fries sides of the family, including her sisters-in-law: Doris Shifflett and Vera Acker. She is also survived by a special “grandson”, Hunter Scott, and wife Laura of Holmen, Wisconsin.

Larry Wayne Hepler Dies

Larry Wayne Hepler, 71, of Lexington died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at his home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 21, 2012 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Mike Fritts. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Born on the Hepler Farm in Davidson County on October 9, 1940. Surviving are his wife, Myra Brank Hepler; his mother, Mildred Lash Hepler and his brother, Roger Dale Hepler and his wife Fredia. His son, Larry “Todd” Hepler and his wife Christi, and their children Jeremy, Megan and Dylan. Also his youngest son, Jeffrey Wayne Hepler and his wife Genie, and their children Robert and J.T; a daughter, Tina Irby and her husband Chip. Direct line to John & Hannah Briles Hepler.

Peggy Lee Harris Burchett

Peggy Lee Harris Burchett, 68, passed away on April 8, 2012 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Max Shoaf officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Born on January 30, 1944 in Davidson County, the daughter of Barrette and Hazel Lee Harris of Thomasville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brianna Lee Clodfelter. On August 16, 1981, she married Jerry Dean Burchett, who survives of the home; also surviving are two sons, Christopher Reid Clodfelter and wife Kay of Lebanon, IL, and David Barrett Clodfelter and wife Dawn of Wallburg; two grandchildren, Brendan Lane Clodfelter and Connor Lee Clodfelter; and many beloved friends and cousins.
