Everett Glenn Loflin Dies
Everett Glenn Loflin, 82, passed Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Doug Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Born on December 18, 1929 in Randolph County to Everette Charles Loflin and Mamie Summey Loflin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ross and Lespie Loflin; and sister, Edna Gordon. In September, 1972, he married Jo Ann Kindley, who survives of the home; also surviving are two step-sons, Todd Daniels and wife Murielle of Trinity and Tedd Daniels of Thomasville; step-daughter, Tamara Daniels of Archdale; sister, Eva Summey of Trinity; two grandchildren, Zane and Paige Daniels; sister-in-law, Virginia Loflin of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.

Two Charged with Murder
Two people have been charged with 1st Degree in murder in the death of John Russell Morris and the accused may have Briles ties. Jessica Dawson Summey and Shawn Lundy have been arrested in Virginia and will be extradited back to Randolph County. The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said investigators have found burned vehicle parts from John Russell Morris' Jeep Wrangler behind a home at 516 Mount Shepherd Road. Deputies also said they found human remains. The body has been sent to the Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for identification.

Lena Ruth Gordon Kearns Dies
Lena Ruth Gordon Kearns, 87, of Asheboro, NC, passed Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Carillon Assisted Living. Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Native of Randolph County, NC, born May 8, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee Gordon and Lillie Mae Hicks Gordon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Kearns. Survived by her daughters, Brenda Kearns Brigman, of Asheboro, NC, Linda Kearns Richardson, of Savannah, GA; son, Lindley Charles Kearns and wife, Brenda, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Evelyn Lambeth, of Thomasville, NC; brother, Carl Gordon, of Thomasville, NC; grandchildren, Lynn Brigman, Eddie Brigman, Mitchell Brigman, Brenda Wall, Veronica Craven, Tonya Reyes, Paul Brigman, Doug Brigman, Dean Cox, Stephanie Witzens, Lura Booth, Sabrina Simmons; step grandchildren, Donna Mason, Tammy Swaney, Terry Richardson, Harold Richardson, Jr., Kevin Richardson; 28 great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Lewis Clayton Summey Passes Same Day as Her Son
Lewis Clayton Summey, age 79, passed Monday, January 9, 2012 at LibertyWood Nursing Center in Thomasville. A private interment will be at Tom's Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Born January 14, 1932 in Randolph County to the late Lewis and Evelyn Briles Summey who also passed today. Preceded in death by his son Toney Summey. Survived by his wife Lois Kindley Summey of the home.

Evelyn Briles Summey, age 96, passed Monday, January 9, 2012 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Wake: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Ross Wood Road, Asheboro with Rev. Ray Swaney officiating. Born in Randolph County on April 23, 1915 to Harris and Minnie Money Briles. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Summey, sons Wayne and Clayton Summey, and grandsons Randy and Tony Summey. Survived by her sons, Mack Summey and his wife Thelma of Trinity, NC, Roy Summey and his wife Shirley of Thomasville, NC; grandsons, Dale Summey of Lexington, NC, Junior Summey and his wife Tammy of Trinity, NC, and Steven Summey and his wife Diane of Dallas, TX.
