Delmer Smith III Convicted!

Delmer Smith III has been convicted of armed home invasion robbery and armed kidnapping in Sarasota County, Florida. The jury took less than an hour to convict the thug of the charges which should bring a life sentence. The sentencing hearing will begin on December 28, 2011 in the same courtroom. The conviction stems from a March 14, 2009 incident where Smith robbed and kidnapped Nicole Mitchell in her home. Smith is also accused of 10 other home invasion robberies -- five in Manatee County and five in Sarasota County -- that took place between February and May 2009. Now the stage is set for a July 2012 murder trial involving Smith. He is accused of killing Kathleen Briles, wife of prominent doctor, Dr. James Briles of Florida.
