The Latest on Delmer Smith

The BIN has an update regarding the murderous thug Delmer Smith, currently on death row for killing Kathleen Briles on Aug. 3, 2009, in Florida. 

Smith was again convicted of murder on June 14, 2019 in Florida regarding the killing of 36-year-old Georgann Smith in 2009. He was sentence to three concurrent life sentences, which takes a back seat to his death row sentence. In 2011, Smith received yet another life sentence for an armed home robbery in Sarasota where Smith broke into the home, threatened to kill the elderly woman inside.

Unless Smith waives the appeal process for his death sentence, it will take a while for this thug to be executed. Since 2014, the average time on death row is 25 years. 

Smith Found Guilty, Sentenced to Death!

Delmer Smith III has been found guilty of first degree murder and was sentenced to death by lethal injection today! Smith was convicted in the Aug. 3, 2009 bludgeoning death of Kathleen Briles, wife of Dr. James Briles of Florida. It took the jury less than 30 minutes to reach a verdict of death. Jury Selection to Begin Monday

Jury selection will begin on Monday in death penalty case against Delmer Smith in Florida. He is accused of killing Kathleen Briles, wife of prominent doctor, Dr. James Briles of Florida in 2009. Judge Peter Dubensky denied state and defense motions to delay in selecting a jury, which will proceed next week. Smith is already serving a life sentence without parole for several armed home invasions, robbery and armed kidnapping. He is suspect in several other major crimes in Florida. BREAKING NEWS-Delmer Smith III has been sentenced to life without parole for the armed home invasion robbery and armed kidnapping in Sarasota County, Florida. Smith is also accused of 10 other home invasion robberies -- five in Manatee County and five in Sarasota County -- that took place between February and May 2009. Now the stage is set for a July 2012 murder trial involving Smith. He is accused of killing Kathleen Briles, wife of prominent doctor, Dr. James Briles of Florida. Delmer Smith III has been convicted of armed home invasion robbery and armed kidnapping in Sarasota County, Florida. The jury took less than an hour to convict the thug of the charges which should bring a life sentence. The sentencing hearing will begin on December 28, 2011 in the same courtroom. The conviction stems from a March 14, 2009 incident where Smith robbed and kidnapped Nicole Mitchell in her home. Smith is also accused of 10 other home invasion robberies -- five in Manatee County and five in Sarasota County -- that took place between February and May 2009.
