Emma Kinley Hunt Dies

Emma Kinley Hunt, age 70, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 in High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM in J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville, NC. The interment will be at The House of Hope Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Born Dec 19, 1941 in Davidson Co. NC daughter of the late David Lee Kindley and Treva Hughes Kindley; preceded in death by one grandson, Kevin Wayne Garner and one brother, Homer Kinley She was married Sept 11, 1960 to Harvey Lee Hunt who survives of the home. Also surviving are, one daughter, Susan Jane Garner and husband Kirby of Thomasville; one son, Harvey Milton Hunt, Sr. and wife Sammie of Thomasville; three sisters, Magdaline McDowell and Dot Sluder and husband Autry all of Thomasville and Shirley Saunders and husband Lonnie of Asheboro; one brother, Benny Kinley and wife Lou of Lexington; two grandchildren, Derrick Garner of Thomasville and Harvey Milton Hunt, Jr. and wife Amy of Thomasville; two great grandsons, Wilson Lee Hunt and Devin Garner.

Cecil Harmon Pierce Dies

Cecil Harmon Pierce, age 82, passed Sunday, December 25, 2011 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of his daughter: Rita Pierce Kinley, 2103 Stutts Road, Asheboro.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 10:00 AM at the Living Waters Baptist Church, 2376 Race Track Road, Sophia, NC 27350, with Rev. Wayne Pugh officiating. Burial will be follow at 1:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery, SalisburyBorn November 15, 1929 in South Port, Ohio, the son of Edmond and Elizabeth Sprouse Pierce; preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Ann Webb Pierce, Daughter: Toni Pierce, sister: Elizabeth Whitt and brother: Edward Pierce.
He is survived by two daughters: Vickie Pierce House and her husband, Don of Pleasant Garden, Rita Pierce Kinley and her husband, Terry of Asheboro, two sons: Larry Pierce and his wife, Sara of Swansea, S.C. and Danny Pierce of Sophia, NC; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one brother: Paul Pierce of Ironton, Ohio.

Samuel Kenneth Rush Dies

HIGH POINT-Samuel Kenneth “Ken” Rush, 80, passed Monday, October 17, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital. A celebration of life funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at Cumby Family Funeral Service; Ken Clegg officiating. Burial will follow in Deep River Friends Meeting Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Born September 14, 1931 in Randolph County, a son of the late Ernest and Effie (Kinley) Rush. Survived by his wife Patsy Hodgin Rush; a daughter, Debbie Rich and husband, Mark of High Point; two grandsons, Chris Beeson and wife, Shelly of New London, NC, and Matthew Rich and wife, Julie of High Point; two great grandsons, Connor Beeson and Austin Rich; four sisters, Cleo Myers and husband, Frank of Archdale, Peggy Hill of Archdale, Ann Poarch and husband, James of Valdese, NC, and Mary Lou George of High Point; two sister-in-laws, Jackie and Donna Sue Rush; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
