Smith Found Guilty, Sentenced to Death!

Delmer Smith III has been found guilty of first degree murder and was sentenced to death by lethal injection today! Smith was convicted in the Aug. 3, 2009 bludgeoning death of Kathleen Briles, wife of Dr. James Briles of Florida. It took the jury less than 30 minutes to reach a verdict of death. Jury Selection to Begin Monday

Jury selection will begin on Monday in death penalty case against Delmer Smith in Florida. He is accused of killing Kathleen Briles, wife of prominent doctor, Dr. James Briles of Florida in 2009. Judge Peter Dubensky denied state and defense motions to delay in selecting a jury, which will proceed next week. Smith is already serving a life sentence without parole for several armed home invasions, robbery and armed kidnapping. He is suspect in several other major crimes in Florida.
