Wendell Thomas Briles, 85, of Asheboro, died Monday, October 5, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2026, at High Rock Baptist Church in Trinity; Pastor Junior Summey officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. 


The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home.

Born on December 11, 1940, in Randolph County, the son of the late Ernest Sheridan Briles and Ella Mae Younts Briles. 

In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Loflin, Jewel Jordan, Doris Stout; brothers, Dalton Briles, Robert Briles, Gilbert Briles, and Wayne Briles.

Survived by his wife of 66 years, India Trotter Briles of the home; daughter, Karen Briles Adams (Ed) of Asheboro; sister-in-law, Gail Davis (Rick) of Asheboro; nieces, Janet Williams, Phyllis Caviness, Bonnie Blue, Kayla Jordan; several great nieces and one great nephew.

Bonnie Sue (Briles) Stegemann, age 73, of Columbus, passed away at Grant Hospital on Monday October 5, 2026. 

Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at O. R. Woodyard South Chapel, 1346 S. High Street, from 2 pm until time of funeral service at 4 pm.

Born December 27, 1952 to the late Walter and Hazel Briles.

She is preceded in death by parents; Walter and Hazel Briles; brothers, Charles and Joe Briles; son, Reinhard Stegemann Jr; grandson, Pedro. 

Survived by husband, Reinhard Stegemann Sr; daughters, Rhonda Stegemann and Tara Toyloy; grandchildren, Joshua Marie, Ashley, Kayla, Ramiro, Jillian, Lillian (Noah), Arthur and Danielle (Jace); and 12 great grandchildren ; siblings, Jim (Margaret) Briles, Joyce (Greg) Fernan and Dan (Daphne) Briles; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sanford Milton “Monk” Suggs, Jr. 86, of Thomasville passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11:00AM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the funeral home.

Born December 6, 1939, the son of the late Sanford Milton Suggs, Sr. and Ruth Marion Parrish Suggs in Guilford County.

In addition to his parents, Monk was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsieohn Suggs Stewart and Mable Suggs Arney.

Reinhard Kurt Manfred Stegemann Jr. age 46, of Columbus, passed away at his home on September 21, 2026.

Born, August 26, 1980 to Reinhard & Bonnie Sue Briles Stegemann. US Army Veteran and Eagle Scout.

He is preceded in death by grandparents; Walter and Hazel Briles; Elfvieda Pfeifer and nephew Pedro.

He is survived by his parents; Reinhard and Bonnie Stegemann Sr; twin sister, Rhonda Stegemann; sister, Tara Toyloy. He is also survived by his daughter Danielle (Jace) Haven; grandchildren; Adaline and Lorelai; and numerous family and friends.

Larry Monroe Stout passed away on September 22, 2026, at the Randolph Hospice House.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th, from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Parks Crossroads Christian Church, followed by funeral services at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Todd Nance. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born on September 25, 1943, in Randolph County, to the late Dwight and Doris Briles Stout.

Mr. Stout is survived by his wife, Linda L. Stout, of their home, daughter, Jamie Stout Fogleman, and her husband Mike, of Liberty; his granddaughter, Blakeley Fogleman Hollingsworth, and her husband Kyle, of Sophia; and his grandson, Dr. Brody Fogleman, and his fiancĂ©e Dr. Cristin Grant, of Charleston, SC, and great granddaughter, Vallie Hollingsworth, of Sophia.

Surviving; her husband of 51 years, Paul W. Holmes; a brother, Aster (Sonny) Ray Rider, Jr. of Lexington; a niece, Kara Lewis (Alex); a nephew, Harrison Rider; a great-nephew, Oleander Lewis; and a great-niece, Azelea Lewis.

Born April 27, 1937, in Randolph County, son of Robert Glenn Albertson and Dorothy Robbins Albertson. Veteran of the United States Air Force.

Surviving; his wife, Jackie Watson Albertson; two sons: Gregory Franklin Albertson and Jonathan Talmadge Albertson; granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Albertson; two sisters, Anne Albertson Hobson and Francis Albertson White as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born December 25, 1943 in Guilford County, a daughter to the late Vernon Lee Kinley Sr. and Lottie Marie Reynolds Kinley.

Preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are her daughters, Shay Kielas (Mark) of Greensboro and Rhonda Meeks of McLeansville; a son, Michael Todd Wilson of McLeansville; two sisters, Lou Land of McLeansville and Carolyn Rich of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Ashley Hand, Brittney Meeks, Michael Meeks, Aaron Dabbs (Kelly) and Taylor Dabbs; and seven great grandchildren, Scarlett, Noah, Holden, Myah, Chelsea, Caleb and Leo.

Mr. James Rex Briles

 

It’s with deep regret and sorrow that I announce the passing of my father, James Rex Briles. The Briles Information Network was created in his honor in 1996.  My dad passed this morning in Southmont, NC. 

Mr. James Rex Briles, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at his home in Southmont, NC.


Per Mr. Briles wishes, there will be no services.


Born, May 2, 1940 in Washington, D.C. to the late Rex & Ivy Black Briles. Growing up in Graham, NC Mr. Briles was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow and an avid ham radio  operator. 


Mr. Briles was a US Navy Veteran, Petty Officer Second Class/CT-2, stationed in KaramĂĽrsel,Turkey and Edzell, Scotland. 


In 1963, Mr. Briles met and married Catherine McGarry Cameron in Montrose, Scotland.


Mr. Briles was an Emmy Award Winning Producer and Director for WFMY Channel 2, from 1963 and retiring in 1999.


Surviving is his wife, Catherine McGarry Briles (Nee Cameron); two sons, James Rex Briles Jr. and his wife Jovanna of Winston-Salem, Rodney Trent Briles of Thomasville; Three grandchildren, Michael Trent Briles and his wife Sarah of Greensboro, Alexandria Parry and her husband Marty of Valdese, and Cameron Jewel Briles of Trinity, NC; One great grandchild, Braylin Briles of Greensboro; One sister, Ellen Machacek and her husband David of Zebulon; one brother, Kevin Garrett of Burlington.
