Sanford Milton Suggs Jr.

Sanford Milton “Monk” Suggs, Jr. 86, of Thomasville passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11:00AM at the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the funeral home.

Born December 6, 1939, the son of the late Sanford Milton Suggs, Sr. and Ruth Marion Parrish Suggs in Guilford County.

In addition to his parents, Monk was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsieohn Suggs Stewart and Mable Suggs Arney.


Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Freida Albright Suggs of the home; children, Terri Ward (Kevin) of Lexington, Marlon Suggs (Elizabeth Taylor) of Greensboro, Tressi Suggs of Thomasville, John Suggs (Tracy) of Woodleaf; sisters, Marlene Suggs Ritchie, Barbara Suggs Faircloth (Dale); grandchildren, Jenny Ruth Ward Burkhart, Joe Daniel Ward, Whitney Dawn Suggs O’Neal, Jessie Lee Slaven Sheffield, Katie Jo Slaven, Weston Dean Suggs, Wyatt Sanford Suggs, Ben Sanford Suggs, Ally Jill Suggs, Courtney Ann Smith Neeley; and several great-grandchildren.
