A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM on Thursday, Jan. 27 at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery conducted Rev. Jeremy Pierce.
Mr. Pierce was born in Randolph County on October 8, 1933 to Lewis Pierce and Rosa Mae Trotter Pierce. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Daniel Pierce; brothers, David, Thomas, and Rufus Pierce; sister, Louella Newsome; and a granddaughter, Annette Walker.
He is survived by son, Ricky Pierce of Asheboro; daughter, Barbara Hunt of Denton; sister, Marsha Surratt of Denton; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Briggs Funeral Home is serving the Pierce family.
