Herman Azel "Pop" Hoover Died Today

Herman Azel "Pop" Hoover, 94, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Forsyth Hospital. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Back Creek Friends Meeting with Pastor Jon Reece officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Randolph County on July 6, 1922 to Monroe and Renie Sheffield Hoover. US Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Hoover Robbins, Alice Hoover Gallimore, and Florence Hoover Parrish, his brothers, Jasper Hoover, Bascome Hoover, Murray Byrd Hoover, Troy Edgar Hoover, and Arthur Monroe Hoover, and his great granddaughter, Madelyn Kate Six. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma VonCannon Hoover; daughter, Rena Gale McLeod and husband Mike of Asheboro; sons, Donald Hoover of Asheboro and Stansel Hoover and wife Donna of Asheboro; granddaughters, Kari Six and husband Kevin of Randleman and Bevan Hoover of Asheboro; and great grandson, Trey Six.
