Doris Mae Hunt Pierce, 88, a resident in Lexington, passed away Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at her residence. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM in Walter’s Grove Baptist Church in Lexington with the Pastor Chris Simpson officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM at the church. Born in Davidson County on May 28, 1928. She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Hunt and one granddaughter, Brooke Pierce. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her husband of 68 years, Troy Pierce, who survives of the home; two daughters, Sylvia P. Stabler of Lexington, and Cindy P. Hayes and husband Roy of Lexington; two sons, Troy L. Pierce and wife Tammie of Lexington and Thomas Pierce and wife Vickie of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Chris Pierce and wife Jensie of Leavenworth, KS, Michael Pierce and wife Sadie of Leavenworth, KS, Jessica Phillips and husband Robbie of Denton, Chad Pierce and wife Amanda of Thomasville, Jamie Stabler of Lexington, Megan Hill and husband Keith of Advance, Amber Gordon and husband Tyler of Kernersville, and Brianna Pierce of Lexington; and eleven great-grandchildren.
