Dennis Ray Welborn Dies

Dennis Ray Welborn, 65, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Gavin Pratt. Interment will follow in Thomasville City Cemetery. Born March 12, 1947, in Davidson County to Luther Welborn and Catherine Gertrude Hayes Welborn; preceded in death by his father, a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Welborn and wife Nell. On Jan. 31, 1965, he married Peggy Parker Welborn, who survives of the home; also surviving is his mother of Thomasville; daughter Cindy Young and husband David of Lexington; two sons, Dennis Ray Welborn II and wife Ronnette of Asheboro and Brian Scott Welborn of the home; sister Shirley Ann Scott of Trinity; grandchildren Jonathan David Young and wife Nikki and Lauren Elyse Young and fiancé Adam Frank, all of Lexington, Derek Ray Welborn of Thomasville and Leslie Nicole Welborn of High Point; and great-grandchildren Gavin David Young and Greenlee Elizabeth Young.
