Venie Pierce Rich Dies

Venie Hazeltine Pierce Rich, 99, passed Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Central Wesleyan Church, 614 Hoover Street; Rev. Larry Johnson and the Rev. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Randolph County, on September 25, 1911, Mrs. Rich was the daughter of the late Edward and Queen Small Pierce. Preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Rich, brother, Wesley Pierce and sisters, Sallie Hogan and Lillian Murray. Surviving are her daughter, Irene Rich Harrison, of Winston-Salem, son, Edward Rich and wife, Ginny, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Tim Rich, of Asheboro, Robert Harrison and wife, Robin, of Rural Hall, David Harrison, of Carboro, Joel Harrison and wife, Ashley, of Pilot Mountain, Michael Jordan and wife, Krista, of Savannah, GA; nine great grandchildren; and special friends, Walter and Vicki Jackson, of Sophia.
