Death Penalty for Briles Murder

The State of Florida will seek the death penalty for murder suspect Delmar Smith III. Smith is the only suspect in the murder of Kathleen Briles, wife of Dr. James Briles. Assistant State Attorney Brian Iten filed court papers notifying Smith's attorney, Michael Reiter of the state's Office of Regional Counsel, of his intent to seek the death penalty.
