Beatrice Towe Draughn, 92, Passes Away

SPARTA-Beatrice Towe Draughn, 92, of Mount Ariy, passed Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, Rev. Jack Anderson, Dr. Randy H. Edwards, and Dr. Craig Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.B orn February 6, 1917, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Willie and Sally Payne Towe. Preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Roger Draughn; a son, Gilbert Draughn; a grandson, Kenneth Draughn; four sisters, Daisy Brown, Etta Eagle, Gertrude Poore, and Lydie Towe; and three brothers, Lester Towe, Arnold Towe, and Cisero Towe. Surviving are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Draughn of the home, Christine and Garland Pack, Shelvie Cassell, and Ronda and Johnny Parker, all of Mount Airy; a son, Garland Draughn of Mount Airy; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.-Moody
