Arthur Harrison (Sam) Hoover Dies

ASHEBORO-Arthur Harrison (Sam) Hoover, 84, passed Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at his home. Funeral services 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church; Rev. Wayne Pugh and the Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born on June 20, 1925, the son of the late Lewis and Annie Rogers Hoover. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Craven Hoover in 1991. Surviving are his daughter and her husband, Patsy and Odis Hunt of Asheboro; son and his wife, Steve and Barbara Hoover of Star; son, Monroe Hoover of Asheboro; daughter and her husband, Ann and Clint Collins of Greensboro; twin brother, Oscar Hoover of Asheboro; sister, Lucinda Ball of Asheboro; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.-Ridge
