Terry Wayne Hepler, 72, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House.  

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM.  

He was born on August 13, 1952 in Davidson County, NC to Hollis Reid Hepler and Betty Jean Skeen Hepler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Reid Hepler.

Surviving is his special cousin, Margaret Coggins; special friend and caregiver, Donnie Trotter and wife Darlene; and another special friend, Royce E. Barthelmes.

Bonnie Louise Hoover Barfield, 80, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at High Point Medical Center, High Point, NC.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at God Outreach Ministries Cemetery.

Bonnie Barfield was born in Randolph Co., NC, on August 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Wade Hoover and Ina Routh Hoover.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Barfield, Sr.; brother, Tommy Hoover and sister, Cathy Robbins.

Surviving are her daugther, Teresa Tate (Ezio Filippini); son, Michael Brady of Asheboro; stepdaugther, Bonnie Mae Barfield; stepsons, Johnny Ray Barfield, Jr., Matthew Barfield (Michelle); sister, Judy Hamilton (Greg) of Asheboro; brothers, Tex Hoover (Nancy) of Randleman, Rick Hoover (Becky Cranford) of Asheboro, David Hoover (Rhonda) of Asheboro; grandchild, Ashley Davis; great grandchildren, Abbie Davis, Maddie Davis, Payton Davis, Jack Davis, Isaiah Davis; and great-great grandchild, Asher Creel.

Richard R. "Dick" Briles, 90, of Anderson, passed away at home on December 1, 2024.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson, IN. Services will follow visitation on Saturday, at 11:00 am with Rev. Corrine Boruff officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born on February 25, 1934, to Marion and Stella (Dickey) Briles.  He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Lois Fischer; daughter, Christy Bez; sister, Betty Fosnough; brothers, Maurice and Phil Briles; and his favorite dog Fritz. Richard is survived by his loving spouse, Beverly (Fischer) Briles, of Anderson, IN; daughter, Susan (Mat) Daoust of Anderson, IN; son-in-law, Mark Bez; grandchildren, Mason Barnett, Emily Kelley, Logan Bez, and Ryan Barnett; sisters, Evadene Turner, and Janet (David) McCord; sister-in-law, Barbara Allgood; brother-in-law, Edward (Joyce) Fischer; and several nieces and nephews.

Mabel Suggs Arney

Mrs. Mabel Suggs Arney, 82, of Thomasville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Trellis Supportive Care, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Terry Boles officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born on March 13, 1942 in Davidson County, NC to Sanford Milton Suggs, Sr. and Ruth Marion Parrish Suggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee Arney on July 28, 2018; and her sister, Elsieohn Suggs Stewart.

Surviving is her son, Jeff Arney and wife Amanda of Madison, NC; three grandchildren, Caitlin, Landon, and Justin; brother, Sanford Milton Suggs, Jr. and wife Freida of Thomasville; sisters, Barbara Suggs Faircloth and husband Dale of Thomasville and Marlene Suggs Ritchie of Rockmart, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Gordon Alfred Briles , 88, passed away November 22, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at the Bob Hope Memorial Chapel at Los Angeles National Cemetery in Westwood at 11:00 a.m. on February 3, 2025

The eldest child of Alfred and Elma Briles, Gordon was born July 29, 1936 in Los Angeles. His sister, Anita preceded him in death. Veteran, US Army.

He is survived by his wife Patty, their son Christopher, and daughter-in-law Sabrina, his brother Howard, generations of nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends.

Mr. Coy Oscar Hoover, 92, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2023, at Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Rabon officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Mr. Hoover was born in Randolph Co., NC, on December 5, 1931, the son of the late Ray Hoover and Queen Kindley Hoover.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Trotter Hoover; brothers, Charles Hoover, Roy Hoover, Raymond Hoover, Dallas "Virgil" Hoover; and sister, Elizabeth Satterfield Kessley.

Mr. Hoover is survived by his daughter, Debra Lanier (Arnold) of Denton; son, Kevin Hoover (Dionne) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Phillip Lanier (Angela) of Asheboro, Amy Lawson (Mike) of Lexington, Julia Hurley (Gene) of Troy, John Hunsuker of Asheboro, Alexis Curry of Albemarle; great grandchildren, Makayla Sanders (Ben), Abby Jean Hurley, Carson Yates, Kylee Yates, Spencer Lanier (Breanna), Debranna Lanier, Ellie Lanier, Levi Lanier; and great great grandchild, Gracelynn Sanders.
