Teresa Kindley Grant Dies
Teresa Diane Kindley Grant, 58 of Davidson County passed away August 31, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hughes Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Summey officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM. Born August 13, 1958 to the late John Samuel Kindley and Marie Kathleen Varner Kindley in Davidson County. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith V. Grant, one daughter Crystal Dawn Grant, two sisters, Sarah Green and Barbara Jean Kindley. Surviving is two daughters Cynthia Grant and Melissa Harvell and husband Brad; one sister Kathy Marie Kindley, eight brothers, Johnny Lee Kindley and wife Sandra, Kenneth Ray Kindley, Jerry Samuel “Sam” Kindley, Timothy Lynn Kindley “Fuzzy”, Glenn Thomas Kindley ‘Inky” and wife Crystal, Charles Eugene Kindley “ Charcoal” and wife Loretta, Phillip David Kindley “Mojo”, Brian Kindley “Petie”; two grandchildren Jenna Johnson and Colton Bowman; PawPaw George and MawMaw Carrie Kindley; many beloved nieces and nephews; she also leaves behind many special friends and co-workers at Royal Development; and her special cat “Pearl”.

Thurman Lee Floyd
Thurman Lee Floyd, 83, of Asheboro, died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at his home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 3, 2016 and other times at the home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2016, at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jeff Garner and Rev. Richard Loman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born August 18, 1933 in Randolph County, Mr. Floyd was the son of the late Edgar and Dora Floyd of Trinity. Mr. Floyd was married to Reba Hoover on September 1, 1951. In addition to his parents, Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Lee Floyd; sisters, Lois Manns, Mozelle Rayburn; and a great-grandson, David Spisak. He is survived by his wife, Reba Hoover Floyd of the home; daughters, Judy Albright and husband, Carroll of Asheboro, Sandra Willoughby and husband, Jim of Denton; son, Gerry E. Floyd and wife, Rebecca of Asheboro; sisters, Dianne Pierce and husband, Dempsey, Harriett Pullum, Gladys Brent, all of Trinity, Sue Garner and husband, Grady, Doris Cox and husband, Lavon, all of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.

Austin John Pierce Dies
Austin John Pierce, 90, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Hospice Home at High Point. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Rich Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Interment with military rites provided by the Military Burial Honor Guard will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to the recent passing of his wife, Beatrice no formal visitation will be held and the family will be at the home of his daughter, Diane. Mr. Pierce will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Born on January 15, 1926 in Randolph County, NC to Gurney Branson Pierce and Nettie Hill Pierce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Beatrice Small Pierce on August 15, 2016, whom he married on July 13, 1946; and his brother, Raymond Pierce. Surviving are his daughter, Diane Huskey and husband Larry of Thomasville; son, Keith Pierce of Jamestown; grandchildren, Erin Proctor and husband Fred, Amy Pierce, Amanda Hill and husband Erik, and Haley Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Tamarah Proctor, Ty Proctor, Jersey Hill, and Laine Hill.

Beatrice Small Pierce Dies
Beatrice Small Pierce, 86, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm at Rich Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:30 – 2:00 at the church and at other times at the home of her daughter, Diane. Mrs. Pierce will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation. Born on June 30, 1930 in Randolph County, NC to the late James Carl Small and Ocia Tabitha Briles Small. On July 13, 1946, she married Austin John Pierce, who survives of the home; also surviving are her daughter, Diane Huskey and husband Larry of Thomasville; son, Keith Pierce of Jamestown; brothers, Robert Small of Lexington and Larry Small and wife Tokhanh of Thomasville; grandchildren, Erin Proctor and husband Fred, Amy Pierce, Amanda Hill and husband Erik, and Haley Pierce; and great-grandchildren, Tamarah Proctor, Ty Proctor, Jersey Hill, and Laine Hill.

Steven Paul Kinley Dies
Steven (Steve) Paul Kinley, 42, died Sunday, August 14, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Fair Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Allan Van Meter officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 – 2:30 pm at the church family life center and at other times at the home. Born on March 21, 1974 in Davidson County, NC to Mark Steven Kinley and Linda Mae Clark Kinley. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edd and Ruth Kinley; maternal grandfather, Luther Clark; two uncles, Eddy Kinley, Jr. and Dan Williams; and his aunt, Rosemary Kinley. On July 31, 1999, he married Brooke Hall, who survives of the home; also surviving are his daughter, Anna Elizabeth Kinley of the home; sons, Steven Hunter Kinley and Chase Alan Kinley, both of the home; his parents, Mark and Linda Kinley of Thomasville; In-Laws, Tim and Gesele Hall of Thomasville; sister, Mindy Lynn Kinley Surratt and husband Kyle of Thomasville; maternal grandmother, Delia Clark of Thomasville; nieces, Myleigh Surratt, Kylyn Surratt, and Lexi Bryant; nephews, Cooper Bryant and Cameron Hall; Sister-In-Laws, Holly Bryant and Brittany Sechriest both of Thomasville; several cousins and many aunts and uncles.

Harvey Lee Hunt, 73, a resident of Gobel Road, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016. A graveside service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday August 14, 2016 at House of Hope Church Cemetery with Rev. Alan Greene officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:30pm-3:30pm at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home He was born on September 4, 1942 in Davidson County, NC to the late Albert Wilson Hunt and Nancy Jane Morris Hunt. Mr. Hunt worked with K &W Cafeteria in High Point , NC with 33 years of service. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jane Kinley Hunt; three sisters, Ann Coe, Peggy Evon, and Claudett Story; one brother, Cleveland Hunt; and one grandson, Kevin Wayne Garner. Surviving are one daughter, Susan Hunt Garner of Thomasville; one son, Harvey Milton Hunt and wife Sammie of Thomasville; two brothers, Darrell Hunt and wife Cathy of Thomasville, and Michael Hunt and wife Teresa of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Harvey Milton Hunt Jr. and wife Amy of Thomasville, and Derrick Lee Garner of Thomasville; two great-grandchildren, Wilson Lee Hunt and Devin Lee Garner.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at Randolph Memorial Park. Born November 23, 1950, Vickie was the daughter of the late Otis and Virginia Pierce Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Hunt. Vickie is survived by her aunt, Carolyn Hopper; and several cousins.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2016 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Hurley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Born in Randolph County, February 5, 1933 to Jesse Warren and Sarah Henley Rush. He was a retired construction worker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ethel Causey Rush in 2007; sisters, Effie Winfrey, Nancy Cagle, Jessie Branch and Mary Ann Russell; brothers, Zeb Rush, Jim Rush, Richard Rush, Glenn Rush, George Rush and Ernest Henley. Surviving are his daughters, Penny Camp (Randy) and Pam Beamer (Richard) all of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Matthew Camp (Amber) Melanie Camp (Caleb Hawkins); great-grandchildren, Ben, Abby and Zeb; brother, Robert Rush of Asheboro; step-children, Kay, Naomi and Bobby.

Brenda Marie Welborn Gallimore, 71, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 AM at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Philip C. Dice. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. Born in Davidson County, March 17, 1945 a daughter of Carl Welborn and Pearlie Copple Welborn.She was first married to Jerry Paul Sentell Sr. who preceded her in death. She was later married to Talton T. Gallimore who survives of the home. Also surviving are two daughters, Paulette Byrd and companion Allen Howard of Thomasville and Laura Gray of Trinity; a son, Jerry Paul Sentell, Jr. of Trinity; four sisters, Ida Rea Hughes of Denton, Betty Elkins of Archdale, Helen Louise Byrd and her husband Bobby of Archdale, and Ruby Carroll of Thomasville; a brother, John Welborn and his wife Janice of Randleman; three grandchildren, Joshua Byrd and companion Jennifer Owens, Raechelle Trieglaff, and Payton Gray; three great-grandchildren, Haven Byrd, Lacie Willaughby, and Makenna Kawelo; special friends, Phil and Dora Dice. She was preceded in death by sisters, Martha Craven, Ruth Underwood, Edna Baugh, and Lorene Hayes and by brothers, Luther Welborn and Odell Welborn.

Brenda Wood McLeod, 71, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2016 at her home. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 7, 2016 at Pugh Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on July 8, 2016 at First Assembly of God, 909 Meadowbrook Road, Asheboro with Pastor Kim Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Native of Randolph County. She was born on July 15, 1944 and was the eldest daughter of the late Lewis Edward Wood and Leona Rush Wood. Mrs. McLeod is survived by her husband, Ray Von McLeod, of the home; children, Reneé Brower and husband Rickey of Randleman, Todd McLeod and wife Charlene of Trinity, and Chris McLeod and wife Wendy of Denton; grandchildren, Macie, Madison, Tyler and Dawson. Mrs. McLeod is also survived by sisters, Barbara Buchanan and husband Ronny of Greensboro, Janice Kite and husband Rick of Asheboro, and Eddie Ruth Stone and husband Herman of Charlotte; brothers-in-law, Paul McLeod of Robbins, Hubert McLeod and wife Mae of Star and Odell McLeod of Seagrove; sisters-in-law Loretta Garner and husband Joe of Robbins and Ruby Davis and husband Bob of Troy; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their thanks to Wilo Deen Powell, Misty Bullard, and Mary Walker for taking such wonderful care of Brenda.
