Dorothy Louise Parrish Long Duck

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Parrish Long Duck, age 92, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 in the Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1:30 PM in Grace Lutheran Church in Thomasville, NC with Rev. Cassie Overcash officiating. The interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation and Mrs. Duck will remain at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour prior to the service.
Born September 25, 1927 in Davidson County, NC the daughter of the late Sidney Parrish and Claudia Everhart Parrish. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. Long; her daughter, Priscilla D. Freedle and a sister, Polly Parrish Hickernell.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Long Keene and husband Thomas of Greensboro, NC; her son, Everette Duck, Jr. of Lexington, NC; two grandchildren, Chad Freedle of Lexington, NC and Shannon Doby of High Point, NC; two great - grandchildren, Samantha Doby and Jamey Passmore.

Mrs. Duck's great grandmother is Elizabeth Briles Robbins.

Lloyd Lee Kearns Dies

Lloyd Lee Kearns, age 72, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 1:00-2:30 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 4836 Robbins Circle Road in Asheboro and other times at his home. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 3:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.Born in Randolph County on September 9, 1947 to Sherman and Susie Robbins Kearns.In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Todd Lee Kearns.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Earnhardt Kearns; son, Anthony Scott Kearns of Asheboro; grandchildren, Sierra Kearns Routh and husband Luke, Stetson Lee Kearns, Tylor Kearns and wife Elizabeth, Kristy Kearns, and Branson Kearns; great granddaughter, Ava Everly; daughter-in-law, Sandra Kearns of Asheboro; sisters, Ruth Whitt and husband Rick of Randleman and Nora Colson of Asheboro; brothers, Randall Kearns and wife Sandy of Asheboro and Jerry Kearns and wife Ann of Asheboro; and sister-in-law, Peggy Kearns of Denton.

Mr. Kearns great grandmother is Elizabeth Briles Robbins.

Eva Dougan Sumrall Dies

Randleman- Eva Dougan Sumrall, 83, passed Thursday, August 29, 2019. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019, with visitation starting at 11:00am, and the service to follow after at 12:00, at Whitehall EMC, 3335 Wesleyan Rd, Randleman, NC.
Born in Randolph County, NC, on May 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Stanton Dougan, and Nettie Harrelson Dougan.
Eva is survived by her children, Donald Edward Dougan, Timothy Ray Dougan, Clyde George Hepline and Tammy Lou Bushor; grandchildren, John Anthony Dougan, Ricky Dougan, Michelle Barfield, Kelly Dunn, Wayne Beane, Shellie Black, Sherrie Gilbert, Crystal Bushor, Trenton Dougan; as well as her 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John Cleveland Dougan.

Mrs. Sumrall's great grandmother is Elizabeth Briles Robbins.

Rev. Warren "Barney" Pierce

Rev. Warren "Barney" Allen Pierce, 97, resident of Trinity, died January 8, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting with Pastor Dave Mercadante officiating. Interment will follow in the meeting cemetery. Following the interment, friends are invited to a time of songs, stories and sentiments and a "carry in meal" at the meeting fellowship hall. Born January 12, 1921 in Randolph County, a son to Harvey and Tressie Robbins Pierce. In 1948, he married the former Frances Bean who preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Gaye Willard and husband Eddie of Trinity and Janice Spainhour of Trinity; two sisters, Peggy Pugh and husband Arnold of Trinity and Nora Lee Myers and husband Paul of Altamonte Springs, FL; and six grandchildren, Kimberly Radford of Durham, Jason Radford and wife Ashely of Durham, Kelly Parker and husband David of Durham, Jonathan Spainhour of Vancouver British Columbia, Christi Anna Coats and husband Michael of Fort Hood, TX and Jeremy Spainhour and wife Keldy of Silverdale, WA.

Veronica Marcella "Marcie" Johnson Dies

Lexington – Veronica Marcella (Marcie) Johnson passed August 13, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting located at 3673 Hoover Hill Rd., Trinity, NC officiated by Pastor Dave Mercadante. Burial will follow the service in the cemetery. There will be a receiving of friends starting at 12:30 at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting. Born on May 11, 1964 in High Point, NC, she was dearly loved by her parents, John R. and the late Jewell Pierce Johnson of Trinity. Her older brother, Michael Pierce, also preceded her in death. Lois Marie Robbins Sink

Lois Marie Robbins Sink, 73, of Finch Farm Rd. Trinity went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 13, 2015 at Duke University Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Sink will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2015 at Fairview United Methodist Church 6073 Fairview Church Rd. Trinity with the Rev. Nancy Krall and Rev. Harold Shives officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born February 26, 1942 in Randolph County, a daughter of the late Charlie Warren Robbins and Ruby Colene Keeling Robbins.Surviving her husband of 53 years, W. G. Sink of the home; one daughter, Wendy Green and husband Shawn of Trinity; two sons, Jason Sink and wife Shelly and Dusty Sink and wife Christy both of Trinity. Five grandchildren, Lacey Green, Logan Sink, Austin Sink, Haley Sink and Jill Sink all of Trinity and one brother, Jimmy Robbins and wife Mary of Trinity.

Carol Parrish Parrish Dies

Carol Parrish Parrish age 69, of Denton died Friday, May 2, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in DentonA graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton conducted by Rev. Charles Moses. Born October 7, 1944 in Randolph County to Charles Lester Parrish and Annie Mae Loflin Parrish, preceded in death by her husband; James A. Parrish and by a son; Patrick Neil Kindley. Survivors include, son; Nathan Kindley of Denton, step brother, Edward Loflin (Susan) of Denton, sisters; Bonnie Swaney (Donald) of Asheboro and Kathy Bowers (Dwight) of Thomasville. Jason Vance Koontz Dead

Jason Vance Koontz passed April 4, 2013 in Davidson County. A Memorial and thanksgiving celebration of his life and spirit will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville with Dr. Ivan Peden and Rev. Peggy Finch officiating. Born May 27, 1971 in Alamance County Charlesanna and Ernest "Sonny" Koontz. Survived by his son, Zachary Koontz, by his parents Charlesanna and Sonny; his brother Rusty and wife Jill of Thomasville; and nephew Nycholas and nieces Reagan and Baylyn Koontz. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Mary Parrish of Trinity.
