Mary Elizabeth Kindley Meredith, 88, a resident of Thomasville passed away on April 28, 2017 at Pine Ridge Health with her loving family surrounding her. Funeral Services will be held on Monday May 01, 2017 at 2:00 pm at J C Green and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Rickey Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service. Born in Guilford County on May 09, 1928 a daughter to the late William Lee Kindley and Sarah Kennedy Kindley. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Herbert Meredith and daughters, Kathy Meredith, Dorothy Meredith Mabe, and Carrie Meredith. She is survived by daughters, Nancy Meredith and Peggy Litteral both of Thomasville; son, William David Meredith and wife Ava of Thomasville; six grandchildren and their spouses; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Ann Blue and Tobbie Smith; siblings, Jo Johnson, Bea Watson, Betty Powell, and Junior Briles; and grandson Jason Cody Smith. HIGH POINT-Deborah “Debbie” Welborn Price , 61, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017. A service to celebrate Debbie’s life was held on Sunday, April 16, at 4 pm, at Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born on September 4, 1955 in Guilford County, daughter of the late Joe and Ava Hill Welborn. She leaves to cherish her memory; her companion, Ricky Butler; her daughter, Misty Welborn and her companion John Parrish; her grandson, Collin Sky Welborn; her sister, Nancy Walker and her husband Dwight; her half-brothers, Max Welborn and his wife Elizabeth, Richard Welborn and his wife Lois. Also surviving are her niece, Paula Walker; her nephew, Darren Walker and 2 special sisters by choice, Sue Stroud and Christy Welborn and her husband Randy.
Grandmother is Bertha Roanna Briles Hill.

Richard M. Briles of Riverside died Thursday, April 6, 2017. Born January 29, 1948 to the late Gaither Ellsworth & Melissa Cullen Briles. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 followed by his Going Home Service promptly at 10:00 AM, all at the Harbor Baptist Church, Marne Highway at Evergreen Street, Hainesport, NJ 08036. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. He was the beloved husband of Linda; devoted father to Sharon (Bill) and step-dad to Michael and the late Matthew; loving grandfather to Ethan and Violet. He also is survived by his sisters, Jean, Melissa (Paul) and Virginia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Back Creek Friends Meeting with Pastor Jon Reece officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Randolph County on July 6, 1922 to Monroe and Renie Sheffield Hoover. US Veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Hoover Robbins, Alice Hoover Gallimore, and Florence Hoover Parrish, his brothers, Jasper Hoover, Bascome Hoover, Murray Byrd Hoover, Troy Edgar Hoover, and Arthur Monroe Hoover, and his great granddaughter, Madelyn Kate Six. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma VonCannon Hoover; daughter, Rena Gale McLeod and husband Mike of Asheboro; sons, Donald Hoover of Asheboro and Stansel Hoover and wife Donna of Asheboro; granddaughters, Kari Six and husband Kevin of Randleman and Bevan Hoover of Asheboro; and great grandson, Trey Six.

Doris Mae Hunt Pierce, 88, a resident in Lexington, passed away Tuesday, April 04, 2017 at her residence. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM in Walter’s Grove Baptist Church in Lexington with the Pastor Chris Simpson officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM at the church. Born in Davidson County on May 28, 1928. She was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Hunt and one granddaughter, Brooke Pierce. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her husband of 68 years, Troy Pierce, who survives of the home; two daughters, Sylvia P. Stabler of Lexington, and Cindy P. Hayes and husband Roy of Lexington; two sons, Troy L. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Hauk and Rev. Barry Wall officiating. family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Debbie Foust. Burial will follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born October 27, 1934 in Davidson County, Mrs. Gallimore was the daughter of the late Willie and Betty Hunt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy E. "Junior" Gallimore, Jr.; sisters, Laurestine Hunt, Lola Hoover and Maxine Kindley.

Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Marine Corps Honor Guard and the Randolph County Honor Guard. Mr. Small will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour of the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm to receive visitors and friends. Carl Braxton Briles, Sr., 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00-3:30 PM Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM in Westwood Memorial Gardens, 6101 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369, conducted by the Rev. Hub Blankenship and the Rev. Michael Keel. Born February 13, 1933, in Orange County, NC, he was the son of the late Fred Cecil Briles and Clara Mae Blackwood Briles. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Edmonds Briles; children, Pamela B. Edwards and Lisa B. Champion (Jimmy), all of Moore, SC, and Carl Braxton Briles, Jr. (Dianne) of Inman, SC; five grandchildren, Joshua Neil Briles (Allison Matthes), Andrew Braxton Briles (Cori), Lindsay Briles Evans (Dusty), Brandon Wesley Edwards, and Travis Austin Edwards; and seven great-grandchildren, Caleb Michael Briles, Emma Claire Briles, Hunter Alden Briles, Kylee Paige Briles, Logan Braxton Briles, Mason Alec Evans, and Samuel Jamison Evans. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and two sister, Edward, Nellie, and Linda Faye.
