Vernon Donnie "Red" Williams Dies

Vernon Donnie "Red" Williams, 87, passed Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Levine Dickson Hospice Home in Huntersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kenneth Reed and Pastor Gary Foster. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Born December 11, 1923 in Davidson County to the late Omar and Hettie Crotts Williams. Preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Yarborough Williams. Surviving are sons Omar Williams and wife Jan of Mooresville, and Wayne Williams and wife JoAnn of Clemmons; daughter Jane Bozeman and husband Rodney of Lexington; and nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
