John Lee Summey

John Lee Summey, 73, of Denton, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 10:45 until 11:45 a.m. and following the service on Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2024, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Jimmy Barbour officiating. Burial will be private in Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Trinity.

Born in Randolph County, NC, on November 9, 1950, John was the son of the late Robert and Lucille Crotts Summey. Veteran of the US Army. 

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristen Kidd.

Surviving are his daughter, Laura Barbour (James) of Denton; brother, Robert "Bobby" Summey (Faye) of Asheboro; granddaughters, Kayla Kidd of Denton, Angel Barbour (Cordell Graham) of Lexington; great grandchildren, Noah Graham, Shawn Graham; nieces, Crystal Richardson (Kevin) of Asheboro, Donna Reynolds of Sylva; and aunt, Rosa Lee Garren of Asheboro.

Mildred Leness Williamson Robbins

Mildred Leness Williamson Robbins, 74 of Gold Hill, NC passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Born January 19, 1946 in Randolph County she was the daughter of the late Mildred Louise Miller and Willie Wearthy Williamson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Robbins and brothers, Mitchell Williamson and OD Williamson.
Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Douglas D. Laney, whom she married February 14, 2015; children Beth Pierce of Rockwell, Terry Pierce of Columbia, SC and Star Shown (Keith) of Asheboro, NC,; grandchildren David Ayers, Adam Overman, Christina Watkins, Olivia Shown, Brittany Shown and Bryson Shown; great-grandchildren Brandon Watkins, Aiden Overman, Lexus Overman, Courtney Watkins, Angel Roberts, Logan Walker and Rylee Nickerson; brothers, Howard Williamson of Texas, Lawrence Williamson of Randolph Co., Richard Williamson, Randolph Co.; sisters, Amerlyes Thomas of Randolph Co., Colleen Adams of Randolph Co., Bernadette Bowen of Randolph Co., Phyllis Busbin of Rowan Co., Gwen McDowell of Randolph Co., Vivian Nutter of Randolph Co. and Vickie Williamson of Randolph Co.
