Glenn Eugene (Penn) Kindley

Glenn Eugene "Penn" Kindley, 85, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Brian Center Nursing Care of Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 PM at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Ken Pauley. Burial will be in Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the JC Green and Sons funeral home Monday from 6 until 8 PM and other times at the residence.  Born in Thomasville, February 5, 1931 a son of Jacob Kindley and Bertha Hunt Kindley and was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mageline Sherfield and Pauline Hughes, and by brothers, Charlie Kindley, Carl Kindley, Rob Kindley, Odell Kindley, and Bill Kindley. Surviving is his longtime companion, Mary Belle Varner of the home; Mary Belle’s children, Donna Kennedy and husband Gene of Denton, Mary Woody of Trinity, Sheila Smith and husband Carl of Thomasville, and Angela Trull and husband Wayne of Trinity; two sons, Gary Kindley and Harold Kindley; two sisters, Fannie Bullins and Judy Grubb and husband Michael, both of Thomasville; two brothers, Garland Kindley of Pleasant Garden and Paul Kindley of Thomasville.

Worthie Elwood Briles Dies

Worthie Elwood Briles, 98, of DeKalb, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, at the DeKalb County Hospice at the Oak Crest Retirement Center, DeKalb. A memorial service will be scheduled for early June 2016.Born January 31, 1918, in Italy, Ellis County, Texas, Elwood was the son of Worthie Harwood Briles and Leona Hays (Connally) Briles. He married the late Clara Ruth Wilson on June 6, 1941, in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings, Connally Oran Briles, Bonnie Bell (Briles) Stokes, Van Gordon Briles, and Jack David Briles. He is survived by his sister, Leona Jean (Briles) Cookston of Somerville, Tennessee; his children, Susan Marie Kniebes (Duane Kniebes) of Boulder, Colorado, David Elwood Briles (Marilyn Crain) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Sara Briles (Richard Briles Moriarty) of Madison, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Dustin Lincoln Briles Moriarty (Dana Churness) of Herbster, Wisconsin, Rachel Florence Briles (Duy Ho ng) of Austin, Texas, and Travis Crain Briles of Boulder, Colorado; step-grandchildren, Linda (Kniebes) Ismiel (Tim) of Oswego, Illinois, Carrie (Kniebes) Swift (Steve) of Lisle, Illinois, and Van Kniebes of Boulder, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Wylder Lee and Olin Elwood Moriarty of Herbster, Wisconsin, and Kh i and Shiloh Ho ng of Austin, Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Allene Pierce Little Yow, 89, of Asheboro, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 22, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Beane officiating. Burial will follow at High Pine Wesleyan Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, born November 14, 1926 to the late Frank and Nancy Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Bill" Little; daughter, Barbara Jean Little; son, Tony Douglas Little; and second husband, Cecil Yow. Elsie Ruth Gregson Wall passed away February 8, 2016. A memorial service celebrating Ruth's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC 27317. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Born in Guilford County on November 2, 1923 to the late Hubert Clayton and Hazel Ruth Barker Gregson. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Van Wall; two sisters, Betty Jo Gregson and Sarah Gregson Fields; and five brothers, H. Clyde Gregson, George C. Gregson, Boyd A. Gregson, Charles L. Gregson and James W. Gregson. She is survived by three sons, Van G. Wall, Ronald L. Wall and Gary G. Wall; four grandchildren, Lisa W. Biddle, Van G. Wall, Jr., Brian J. Wall and Emily C. Wall; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Ola Mae G. Brown, Marie G. Shoe and Helen L. Gregson; one brother, Clayton O. Max Hilman Nance Sr

TRINITY-Max Hilman Nance, Sr., 85, passed Sunday, February 7th, 2016. A service to celebrate Max’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at First Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Chris Thore, Reverend Dr. David Keith and Reverend David Emery officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, February 12, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. Born in High Point on April 12th, 1930, to the late Norman and Hattie Jackson Nance. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his first wife, Love Hall Nance; his brothers, Shirley Nance and Reitzel Nance; his sisters, Veva Lewallen and Jewel Ridgeway. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lorene Corns Nance; his children, Max Nance, Jr., (Carolyn), Joy Haithcock (Randy), Norman Kirk Nance (Susan) and Chuck Nance (Melissa); sisters in- law, Peggy Nance and June Rickert. Wanda "Faye" Hill Robbins Dies

Wanda "Faye" Hill Robbins, 77, of Trinity, died Friday, January 29, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting Cemetery officiated by Pastor Dave Mercadante and Pastor Brian Donley. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Born March 17, 1938, in Randolph County, Faye was the daughter of the late Victor Emory and Clara Crotts Hill. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dona Hill, and her husband of 49 years, Harrell Davis Robbins. Survivors include her sister, Betty Taylor, of High Point; two brothers, Don Hill and Tommy Hill and wife, Linda, all of Trinity; and several nieces and nephews and their spouses. Grandmother is Bertha Roanna Briles Hill.
