Mr. Olin Dorson Skeen, 82, resident of Archdale, died December 27, 2024 at High Point Medical Center.

Service arrangements are pending.

He was born July 26, 1942 in Randolph County, a son to the late Robert and Stella Ferguson Skeen. Veteran/U.S. Air Force.

Surviving is his sister, Ann Burton of Randleman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Skeen; two sisters, Melba Parker and Jean Seward; step-mother, Ila Bowman Skeen; and two step-brothers, Harrison and Leon Burrow.

Shirley Irene Albertson Probert, age 80, of Trinity, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

A memorial service for Shirley will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, 976 Phillips Ave, High Point, North Carolina

She was born in Guilford County, NC on March 22, 1944 to Robert Glenn Albertson and Dorothy Elizabeth Robbins Albertson. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Albertson and Don Albertson; two sisters Josephine Albertson and Lucille Albertson.

Shirley is survived by two brothers, Bill Albertson (Kay) and Frank Albertson (Jackie); three sisters, Ann Hopkins, Georgia Kenny (Garland) and Frances White; four nieces Donna Albertson, Lisa Philbeck, Kristi Thompson and Angela Albertson; four nephews, Kent Hopkins, Gregory Albertson, Jonathan Albertson and Joey Philbeck; her best friends Susan Daniels and Jason Ashe.

Stephen W. Briles, 81, of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 1:06 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at VA Northern Indiana Health Care System-Marion Campus in Marion, IN.  

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A service to celebrate Steve’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024 with Tyler Moore officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the US Air Force. Inurnment will be in the Marion National Cemetery.

He was born on Thursday, December 24, 1942, in Hartford City, IN. He was preceded in death by his Father - Glen Briles, Mother - Beatrice Marie (Stephenson) Briles, Brother - John Briles, Sister - Beverly Herring, Brother - Bill Briles, and Sister - Joann Conner.

 He married Linda D. (Dawson) Briles on Saturday, July 10, 1971 in Hartford City, IN. Veteran, US Air Force.

Cleo Rush Myers, 94, of Archdale, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 22, 2024, in the sanctuary of Faith Baptist Church; 5744 Mendenhall Rd, Archdale, NC; with the Reverend Mickey Briles officiating. The burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends, 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM, prior to the service.

She was born January 24, 1930, in Randolph County, to the late Ernest Allen Rush and the late Effie Kinley Rush. She later married Frank Dean Myers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Paraleigh Welborn and Peggy Mitchell; brothers, Ermon Rush, Kenneth Rush and Harold Rush; and her son-in-law, Junior Turney.

Left to cherish her memory; daughters, Judi Turney and Cyndi Jacobson (Ken); grandson, Chad Myers Turney (Olga); great grandchildren, Chase Turney, Mackenzie Turney and Alexander Turney; and her sisters, Ann Poarch and Mary Lou George.

Terry Wayne Hepler, 72, of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House.  

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM.  

He was born on August 13, 1952 in Davidson County, NC to Hollis Reid Hepler and Betty Jean Skeen Hepler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Reid Hepler.

Surviving is his special cousin, Margaret Coggins; special friend and caregiver, Donnie Trotter and wife Darlene; and another special friend, Royce E. Barthelmes.

Bonnie Barfield was born in Randolph Co., NC, on August 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Wade Hoover and Ina Routh Hoover.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Barfield, Sr.; brother, Tommy Hoover and sister, Cathy Robbins.

Mrs. Mabel Suggs Arney, 82, of Thomasville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Trellis Supportive Care, Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. 

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Terry Boles officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born on March 13, 1942 in Davidson County, NC to Sanford Milton Suggs, Sr. and Ruth Marion Parrish Suggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Lee Arney on July 28, 2018; and her sister, Elsieohn Suggs Stewart.

Mrs. Beane was born on October 24, 1948, in Davidson County, NC to Clyde Lespy Small and Magdalene Hulin Small. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Henry Wade Small.

She is survived by her husband, Clinard Beane of the home; daughter, Anita Dunn and her husband Terry; brothers, Roy Small of Trinity and Ronald Small and his wife Barbara of Asheboro; sister, Janice Hoover and Randall Loflin of Asheboro; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Marley.

Born October 4, 1939 in Liberal, Kansas to William (Bill) and Zella Briles.
Ross was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, and is survived by his children, Cheryl and Alethea Jan, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his sister Madeline.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Community Baptist Church in Lexington with Pastor Brian Workman and Pastor Darrell Summey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the J.C. Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville.

Myrtle was born April 30, 1943 to the late Wiley Curtis Kindley and Effie Myers Kindley in Davidson County. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Wade Summey in 2019; a sister-in-law, Carlene Leonard.

Surviving are her three children, Debbie Barnes, Cathy Frisbee and husband David, Mark Allen Summey and wife Valarie all of Thomasville; a brother, BJ Leonard; four grandchildren, Alicia Frisbee (Jeff), Chloe Summey Myers and husband Jeremy, Celita Summey, and Enzo Summey; great-grandson, Levi and great-great-grandson, Noah; three special nieces, Sue, Becky, and Rhonda.

Ricky was born on June 15, 1960, in Asheboro, NC, to Arthur Thomas Loflin and Shirley Routh Griffin.

Predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Karen Lynn Loflin; his father, Arthur Loflin; stepfather Joe Shelton; his sister, Teresa Haithcox; and his nephew, Brandon Moser.

He is survived by his daughter, Dasha Oxendine; grandchildren, Emily and Cheyenne Oxendine, Ava and Cohen Loflin; mother, Shirley Griffin; brothers, Dale Loflin and Scott Loflin (Rachael); nephew, Joshua Loflin (Veronica); niece and nephew, Amber and Isaiah Kimes . He is also survived by his beloved dog Sissy.

Born on August 27, 1943 in that same family home on Kindley Road to Jacob Lee Kindley and Bertha Corina Hunt Kindley.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 7 brothers, Charlie, Carl, Robert, Glenn, Odell, Bill, and Garland Kindley; 2 sisters, Magdalene Sheffield and Pauline Hughes; and her son-in-law, John “Richie” Batchelor.

Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Kenneth Bullins; her two sons, Danny Lee Kindley and Jerry Wayne Kindley and wife Kathy; her daughter, Sherry Batchelor; her brother, Paul D. Kindley; her sister, Judy Grubb and husband Michael; two grandchildren, Kenny Batchelor and Jerrica Valdez, who she raised, and her husband Raul; and three great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Chloe, and Raul Jaden Valdez.

Born on June 6th, 1940, to Roy and Ethel Parrish. 

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Roy and Ethel Parrish, and her husband Harold Shaw. She is survived by her Sons, David Shaw (Fonda) of Denton, NC and Terry Shaw (Nielda) of Atlanta, Georgia, Her Sister Lorraine Smith (Lewis) of Trinity, NC, her brother Ronald Parrish (Julie) of Asheboro, NC, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Wallace Eugene Briles



Mr. Wallace Eugene Briles, 68, a resident of Thomasville, passed away August 28, 2024 at his residence.

No formal services will be held at this time.

Born September 15, 1955, in Washington, DC, to the late Wallace Elwood Briles and Gladys Hill Briles. Vietnam Veteran/United States Navy

He survived by his daughter, Jeannie Scott and husband Billy of Monmouth, OR; his sister, Ollie Thompson and husband Joe of Hebron, MD; his sister-in-law, Rita Briles of FL; five grandchildren, Quentin Mulberry Ad wife Darian, Cheyanne Mulberry, Elizabeth Scott, Madeline Scott and Hope Scott; three great-grandchildren, Blakely, Asher and Hadlee; his girlfriend, Jenny Cavanagh.

The Briles Information Radio Network will be replaced by a new podcast called 'BIN STORIES". Production for the new series will begin in 2025. The radio station was discontinued earlier today due to low listenership and no revenue income. 

It should also be noted this BLOG may serve as the main page for the Briles Information Network in the near future (i.e. no more www.briles.net) Web site hosting and renewal of domain name(s) has become cost prohibited for us with no income revenue or private donations.

Barbara Jean Luck Fogleman


Barbara Jean Luck Fogleman, 88, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, NC.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service, and other times at the home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Pendell officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery.

Mrs. Fogleman was born in Randolph Co., on August 7, 1936, the daughter of the late Murphy Luck and Cora Hoover Luck.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fogleman was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Fogleman; daughters, Wanda Bullins, Jackie King, and Deborah Vanderford.

Barbara is survived by her son, Sonny Hayes (Peggy); sister, Joyce Pickett; grandchildren, William Vanderford (Dawn), Micheal Vanderford, Anglia Vanderford, Jessica Butler, Sonny Hayes, Emmie Goins (Ryan); eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
