Jewel Klass Hepler Dies

Jewel Klass Hepler, 91 of Thomasville passed away peacefully Wednesday February 17, 2021 at Pine Ridge Health and Rehab. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Mark Klass officiating. No formal visitation will be held. 

Jewel was born June 16, 1929 to the late James Alfred Klass and Eula Snider Klass in Davidson County. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie Denver “JD” Rollins, Jr.; second husband, Stokes Hepler; one brother, Carson Klass; two sisters, Opal Russell and Maxine Ingram.

Surviving is her son Randy Rollins and wife Sandy; daughter, Sherry Neeley; four grandchildren, Jay Rollins and wife Rebecca, Adam Rollins and wife Meredith, Scott Neeley and girlfriend Marguerite, Andy Neeley and wife Courtney; great-grandchildren, Kate, Denver, Madelyn, Ella, Ruby, Lily and Jordan.

Elaine Marie Briles Dies

Evansville - Elaine Marie Briles, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on February 16, 2021. 
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

She was born on November 8th, 1956 to Margaret (Elsfelder) Morris and James Morris in Evansville, Indiana. Preceded in death by her mother Margaret Morris.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Marlin Briles; her children Andrea (Aaron) Smith, Aaron (Angie) Briles, Arrick (Molly) Briles, and Austin (Erin) Briles; her grandchildren Audrey, Ella, Ayden, Declan, Oliver, Westyn, Graham, Grayson; her father James Morris; her siblings Carol (Lyman) Matherly, Danny Morris, Bob (Sheila) Morris, Mike (Terri) Morris, Laura (Tim) Wathen, and Rick (Jan) Morris.




Richard Harold Hicks

Richard Harold Hicks, 87, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. Born on September 16, 1933 in Randolph Co., NC to the late Carl and Viola Kindley Hicks.

Visitation for Richard will take place on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Sechrest-Davis Funerals & Cremations (formerly Thomasville Funeral Home). A funeral service will follow in the Sechrest-Davis of Thomasville Chapel at 2:00pm; Pastor Brad Treece officiating. Burial will take place at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 44 years, Arlene Petry Hicks; son, Lynn Hicks; brothers, LC Hicks, TJ Hicks, Roland Hicks and Hoyt Hicks; sisters, Ruby Gallimore, Beatrice Summey and Chrissy Jane Smith.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Suggs (Tim); son, Rodney Hicks; brothers, Boogie Hicks, David Hicks (Janet), Hollis Hicks (Elaine) and Dallas Hicks; sisters, Julia Ruth Tharpe and Donese Trotter (Jimmy); grandchildren, Lauren Benfield (Jason), Whitley Boyer (Brandon) and Madison Suggs; his 7 great grandchildren and a mess of loving nieces and nephews.

Richard Ray “Bud” Briles

Richard Ray “Bud” Briles, 56, of Corydon, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon. Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Potato Run Cemetery near Corydon.

Born November 17, 1964, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Jesse and Betty Schwartz Briles. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Beverly Briles.

Survivors include his sister, Angela Briles (Rick); and his niece, Jessica Wright (Eric), both of New Salisbury, Indiana.
