Mrs. Millie Arlene Kindley Snider

Mrs. Millie Arlene Kindley Snider, 91, of Piedmont Crossing, formerly of Lexington, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018. A celebration of Mrs. Snider's life will be held at 3 pm Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, with Rev. David Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. 

Born on February 26, 1926 to the late Henry Pearly and Myrtle Winslow Kindley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, Carl Snider; three sisters; and four brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Martha Kilgore and husband Bill of High Point; two grandchildren, Ashley Kilgore Goldean and husband John and Michael Kilgore and wife Kristin; and four great grandchildren, Rhett, Caleb, Liam, and Mallory.

Pauline "Polly" Kindley Bunting  passed Saturday morning, January 27th. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Matthew Gunter officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Born on April 2nd, 1929 to Gurney Ray Kindley and Lula Myers Kindley; preceded in death by her sister, Betty Dunn and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Kindley. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, C. H. Bunting, Jr.; sons, Scott Bunting of Asheboro and Steve Bunting and wife Christi of Randleman; grandchildren, Melissa Bunting of Troutman, Kathryn Sowers and husband Trent of Statesville, Ben Bunting and wife Allison of New Bern; four great grandchildren; brother, G. R. Kindley, Jr. of Rockingham; sister-in-law, Shelby Harris and husband Gene of Asheboro; and brother-in-law, David Dunn of Asheboro.

Carolyn Fay Hunt Small

Carolyn Fay Hunt Small, 69, of Lexington, passed January 24, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Gary Brown officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the JC Green and Sons funeral home in Thomasville. 

She was born May 24, 1948 to the late Artie Cord and Annie Margaret Hunt in Thomasville. Along with her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her brother Billy Ray Hunt; a son in law, Randy Small; father in law, Floyd Small; mother in law, Elizabeth Small. Surviving is her husband of 33 years, Billy Glenn Small of the home; children, Kenneth Dean Myers of Thomasville, and daughter Angela Small Hethcox and husband Alan Hethcox of Greensboro, Mendy Renee Small of the home; sister, Brenda Kay Hunt who survives of the home. Also, Carolyn is survived by her brother, Timmy Hunt and wife Kathy of Thomasville; three grandsons, Dean Small of Thomasville, Brandon Lahr of Mocksville, and Wesley Myers of Georgia; three granddaughters, Randale Small of Thomasville, Caylee Lahr of Mocksville, and Victoria Myers of Archdale; three great grandchildren, Dakota Small-Cooper of Thomasville, Aprilia and Holden Wright of Archdale.

Janet Pierce Wilson

Janet Pierce Wilson, 59, of Durham, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Rd., Asheboro, NC, 27203, with her pastor, Rev. Bryan Faggart, Rev. Jim Perryman, and Dr. Peggy Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m., prior to the service. 

Born July 30, 1958, the daughter of the late Wesley and Golda McKinnon Pierce. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Wilson; her sisters, Johnsie Pierce Brantley and Gail Pierce Connor. Survivors include her sister, Sharon Pierce of Asheboro; nieces, Erin Connor and Jami Jon Brantley; nephew, Rob Brantley; great nephew, Zeke Brantley; and many friends who helped her through this time.

Ester Small Davidson

Ester Small Davidson, age 103, of Asheboro, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 27 at 11:00 AM at West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Rd, Asheboro, with Rev. Kari Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held in the church sanctuary prior to the service at 10:00 AM. 

Born June 5, 1914 in Davidson County NC, she was the daughter of Ream H. and Eunice Pierce Small. In addition to her parents, Ester was preceded in death by her sons Charles E. Davidson and Gary S. Davidson. She is survived by three sisters: Annie Mae Robbins of Asheboro, Alene Gallimore of Lexington, and Marie Freeman of Randleman; one brother Everett Buck Small and his wife, Evelean, of Asheboro; and a daughter-in-law June Davidson of Pinehurst. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Danny Davidson(Vicki), Amanda Ray(Martin), Donna Davidson, all of OK; Mark Davidson(Stacy) and Ross Davidson(Amanda) of Raleigh; 12 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Rebecca Hoover Loflin, age 83 of NC Hwy # 109 South, Denton, NC died Saturday, January 20 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 24 at Alleghany United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Lucas. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 23 at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.

 Born February 16, 1934 in Randolph County to Andrew Dewey and Vernie Quinie Blackwood Hoover.
 In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Reid Loflin; her daughter Kathy Loflin Hedrick and brothers Lloyd and Herman Hoover. Gilbert Roy Briles, 87, of Trinity, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Thomasville Medical in Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018, at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors presented by The Randolph County Honor Guard. 

Native of Randolph County, Mr. Briles was born February 23, 1930, to the late Ernest and Ella Mae Younts Briles. US Veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Stout, Jewel Jordan, Alice Loflin; brothers, Dalton, Robert and Wayne Briles. Mr. Briles is survived by his wife, Donna Gallimore Briles of the home; daughter, Phyllis Caviness and husband, Gary W. of Asheboro; brother, Wendell Briles and wife, India of Asheboro; and granddaughter, Natalie Caviness.

Henry Lee Briles

Henry Lee Briles, 92, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Floral Garden Park. Born January 17, 1926, in Randolph County, he was a son of the late Russell Briles and the late Zola Summey Briles. US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth "Rusty" Briles, sister, Imogene; and brother, Marion. Lee is survived by his daughter, Bobbi Briles Watkins and husband Tim of Jamestown; sister, Rusaline Cassidy; niece, Pam Cassidy Marshburn and husband Jamey; nephews, David Briles and wife Carolyn, Joe Briles and wife Patty, and Jon Briles; and dog, Lacy.ee.

B.J. "Slick" Kennedy, 78, of High Point, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Camden Health and Rehab. Born December 16, 1939, in Guilford County, he was the son of the late William Jay Kennedy and the late Lena Kindley Kennedy. He is survived by his son, Jay Kennedy and wife Kim of Thomasville; daughter, Susan Allesi and husband Joe of AZ; sister, Shirley Beane and husband Clifford of Trinity; and two grandchildren.
