Sarah Voncile Turner Foster Dies
ARCHDALE – Mrs. Sarah Voncile Turner Foster, age 78, passed Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at her residence. Services will be Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 11 AM in the J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Norman Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park in High Point. Born on March 1, 1933, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Ernest Turner and Josie Wall Turner. She was married to Billy Foster who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Holt, and two brothers, Wendle Turner and Dalton Turner. Survived by four daughters, Cecilia Beck and companion Terry Hepler of Winston-Salem, Diane Freedle of Lexington, Patricia Freeman and husband Timothy and Brenda Williamson and husband Larry, all of Trinity; four sons, Michael Beck and wife Darlene, Andy Beck and wife Michelle, all of Lexington, Jimmy Foster of High Point, and Michael Foster of Trinity; one sister, Willoneese Jordan of Thomasville; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and her devoted dachshund, Tadpole.
Elmer Joe Hoover Dies
Elmer Joe Hoover, 97, of Trinity died April 22, 2011 at his home. A cryptside service will be conducted Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Reverend Jeff Martin. There will be no visitation. Born September 8, 1913 in Randolph County the son of Latta E. Hoover and Millicent Walker Hoover. Preceded in death by his wife, Luna Morris Hoover on December 30, 2005 (m. June 10, 1933). Surviving are a son, Van Hoover and his wife Betsy of Sophia, grandson Ray Hoover of Trinity, and granddaughter Susan Simmons and husband Ron of Trinity and three great grandchildren Meka Hoover, Josh Simmons and Cheyann Simmons.
Ethel Small Parrish Dies
Ethel Small Parrish, age 90, of Trinity passed Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Randolph Hospice House. Wake is Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, Ross Wood Rd., Trinity with Elder Ted Morton and Elder J.R. Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Native of Randolph County; preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Parrish and her son-in-law, Harold Shaw. She is survived by her daughters, Joann Shaw of Asheboro, NC, Lorraine Smith and her husband Lewis of Trinity, NC; son, Ron Parrish and his wife Julie Hopkins Parrish of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, David Shaw and his wife Donna of Denton, NC, Terry Shaw and his wife Nielda of Atlanta, GA, Farrell Smith and his wife Becky of Sophia, NC, Steve Smith and his wife Tammy of Archdale, NC, Seth Parrish of Asheboro, NC; 12 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and sisters, Ruth Surratt of Trinity, NC and Lois Jordan of Greensboro, NC.
